ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਣੀ ਨਾਮੋ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ नामु सुणी नामो मनि भावै ॥ Nām suṇī nāmo man bẖāvai. I listen to the Naam, the Name of the Lord; the Naam is pleasing to my mind. ਵਡੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ वडै भागि गुरमुखि हरि पावै ॥१॥ vadai bẖāg gurmukẖ har pāvai. ||1|| By great good fortune, the Gurmukh obtains the Lord. ||1|| ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥ आसा महला ४ ॥ Āsā mėhlā 4. Aasaa, Fourth Mehl: ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਪਰਗਾਸਾ ॥ नामु जपहु गुरमुखि परगासा ॥ Nām japahu gurmukẖ pargāsā. Chant the Naam, as Gurmukh, and be exalted. ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਮੈ ਧਰ ਨਹੀ ਕਾਈ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਸਭ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ नाम बिना मै धर नही काई नामु रविआ सभ सास गिरासा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Nām binā mai ḏẖar nahī kā▫ī nām ravi▫ā sabẖ sās girāsā. ||1|| rahā▫o. Without the Naam, I have no other support; the Naam is woven into all my breaths and morsels of food. ||1||Pause|| ਨਾਮੈ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਸੁਨੀ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ ॥ नामै सुरति सुनी मनि भाई ॥ Nāmai suraṯ sunī man bẖā▫ī. The Naam illuminates my mind; listening to it, my mind is pleased. ਜੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਨਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਮੀਤੁ ਸਖਾਈ ॥੨॥ जो नामु सुनावै सो मेरा मीतु सखाई ॥२॥ Jo nām sunāvai so merā mīṯ sakẖā▫ī. ||2|| One who speaks the Naam - he alone is my friend and companion. ||2|| ਨਾਮਹੀਣ ਗਏ ਮੂੜ ਨੰਗਾ ॥ नामहीण गए मूड़ नंगा ॥ Nāmhīṇ ga▫e mūṛ nangā. Without the Naam, the fools depart naked. ਪਚਿ ਪਚਿ ਮੁਏ ਬਿਖੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਪਤੰਗਾ ॥੩॥ पचि पचि मुए बिखु देखि पतंगा ॥३॥ Pacẖ pacẖ mu▫e bikẖ ḏekẖ paṯangā. ||3|| They burn away to death, chasing the poison of Maya, like the moth chasing the flame. ||3|| ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ॥ आपे थापे थापि उथापे ॥ Āpe thāpe thāp uthāpe. He Himself establishes, and, having established, disestablishes. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵੈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ॥੪॥੬॥੫੮॥ नानक नामु देवै हरि आपे ॥४॥६॥५८॥ Nānak nām ḏevai har āpe. ||4||6||58|| O Nanak, the Lord Himself bestows the Naam. ||4||6||58|| ਫਲ ਲਾਗੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਕ ਰਸਾਈ ॥੧॥ फल लागे हरि रसक रसाई ॥१॥ Fal lāge har rasak rasā▫ī. ||1|| It bears the fruit of the Lord; its taste is so tasty! ||1|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਲਿ ਵਧਾਈ ॥ गुरमुखि हरि हरि वेलि वधाई ॥ Gurmukẖ har har vel vaḏẖā▫ī. The vine of the Lord's Name, Har, Har, has taken root in the Gurmukh.
