ਗਉੜੀ ਪੰਚਪਦਾ ॥ गउड़ी पंचपदा ॥ Ga▫oṛī pancẖpaḏā. Gauree, Panch-Padas: ਪੇਵਕੜੈ ਦਿਨ ਚਾਰਿ ਹੈ ਸਾਹੁਰੜੈ ਜਾਣਾ ॥ पेवकड़ै दिन चारि है साहुरड़ै जाणा ॥ Pevkaṛai ḏin cẖār hai sāhurṛai jāṇā. For a few short days, the soul-bride stays in her parent's house; then, she must go to her in-laws. ਕਹੁ ਡਡੀਆ ਬਾਧੈ ਧਨ ਖੜੀ ॥ कहु डडीआ बाधै धन खड़ी ॥ Kaho dadī▫ā bāḏẖai ḏẖan kẖaṛī. Tell me, why is the bride wearing her ordinary clothes? ਅੰਧਾ ਲੋਕੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਮੂਰਖੁ ਏਆਣਾ ॥੧॥ अंधा लोकु न जाणई मूरखु एआणा ॥१॥ Anḏẖā lok na jāṇ▫ī mūrakẖ e▫āṇā. ||1|| The blind, foolish and ignorant people do not know this. ||1|| ਪਾਹੂ ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਮੁਕਲਾਊ ਆਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ पाहू घरि आए मुकलाऊ आए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Pāhū gẖar ā▫e muklā▫ū ā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o. The guests have arrived at her home, and her Husband has come to take her away. ||1||Pause|| ਓਹ ਜਿ ਦਿਸੈ ਖੂਹੜੀ ਕਉਨ ਲਾਜੁ ਵਹਾਰੀ ॥ ओह जि दिसै खूहड़ी कउन लाजु वहारी ॥ Oh jė ḏisai kẖūhṛī ka▫un lāj vahārī. Who has lowered the rope of the breath down, into the well of the world which we see? ਲਾਜੁ ਘੜੀ ਸਿਉ ਤੂਟਿ ਪੜੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਪਨਿਹਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ लाजु घड़ी सिउ तूटि पड़ी उठि चली पनिहारी ॥२॥ Lāj gẖaṛī si▫o ṯūt paṛī uṯẖ cẖalī panihārī. ||2|| The rope of the breath breaks away from the pitcher of the body, and the water-carrier gets up and departs. ||2|| ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਹੋਇ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸਵਾਰੇ ॥ साहिबु होइ दइआलु क्रिपा करे अपुना कारजु सवारे ॥ Sāhib ho▫e ḏa▫i▫āl kirpā kare apunā kāraj savāre. When the Lord and Master is kind and grants His Grace, then her affairs are all resolved. ਤਾ ਸੋਹਾਗਣਿ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੇ ॥੩॥ ता सोहागणि जाणीऐ गुर सबदु बीचारे ॥३॥ Ŧā sohagaṇ jāṇī▫ai gur sabaḏ bīcẖāre. ||3|| Then she is known as the happy soul-bride, if she contemplates the Word of the Guru's Shabad. ||3|| ਕਿਰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਂਧੀ ਸਭ ਫਿਰੈ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ किरत की बांधी सभ फिरै देखहु बीचारी ॥ Kiraṯ kī bāʼnḏẖī sabẖ firai ḏekẖhu bīcẖārī. Bound by the actions she has committed, she wanders around - see this and understand. ਏਸ ਨੋ ਕਿਆ ਆਖੀਐ ਕਿਆ ਕਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰੀ ॥੪॥ एस नो किआ आखीऐ किआ करे विचारी ॥४॥ Ės no ki▫ā ākẖī▫ai ki▫ā kare vicẖārī. ||4|| What can we say to her? What can the poor soul-bride do? ||4|| ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਚਰਣੀ ਲਾਗਿ ਰਹੁ ਭਜੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਕਬੀਰਾ ॥੫॥੬॥੫੦॥ हरि की चरणी लागि रहु भजु सरणि कबीरा ॥५॥६॥५०॥ Har kī cẖarṇī lāg rahu bẖaj saraṇ kabīrā. ||5||6||50|| So remain attached to the Lord's Lotus Feet, and hurry to His Sanctuary, Kabeer! ||5||6||50|| ਭਈ ਨਿਰਾਸੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਚਿਤ ਬੰਧਿ ਨ ਧੀਰਾ ॥ भई निरासी उठि चली चित बंधि न धीरा ॥ Bẖa▫ī nirāsī uṯẖ cẖalī cẖiṯ banḏẖ na ḏẖīrā. Disappointed and hopeless, she gets up and departs. There is no support or encouragement in her consciousness.
