ਮਨ ਕਾ ਸੁਭਾਉ ਮਨਹਿ ਬਿਆਪੀ ॥ मन का सुभाउ मनहि बिआपी ॥ Man kā subẖā▫o manėh bi▫āpī. The natural tendency of the mind is to chase the mind. ਗਉੜੀ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੀ ॥ गउड़ी कबीर जी ॥ Ga▫oṛī Kabīr jī. Gauree, Kabeer Jee: ਮਨਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਵਨ ਸਿਧਿ ਥਾਪੀ ॥੧॥ मनहि मारि कवन सिधि थापी ॥१॥ Manėh mār kavan siḏẖ thāpī. ||1|| Who has established himself as a Siddha, a being of miraculous spiritual powers, by killing his mind? ||1|| ਕਵਨੁ ਸੁ ਮੁਨਿ ਜੋ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੈ ॥ कवनु सु मुनि जो मनु मारै ॥ Kavan so mun jo man mārai. Who is that silent sage, who has killed his mind? ਮਨ ਕਉ ਮਾਰਿ ਕਹਹੁ ਕਿਸੁ ਤਾਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ मन कउ मारि कहहु किसु तारै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Man ka▫o mār kahhu kis ṯārai. ||1|| rahā▫o. By killing the mind, tell me, who is saved? ||1||Pause|| ਮਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬੋਲੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ॥ मन अंतरि बोलै सभु कोई ॥ Man anṯar bolai sabẖ ko▫ī. Everyone speaks through the mind. ਮਨ ਮਾਰੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੨॥ मन मारे बिनु भगति न होई ॥२॥ Man māre bin bẖagaṯ na ho▫ī. ||2|| Without killing the mind, devotional worship is not performed. ||2|| ਕਹੁ ਕਬੀਰ ਜੋ ਜਾਨੈ ਭੇਉ ॥ कहु कबीर जो जानै भेउ ॥ Kaho Kabīr jo jānai bẖe▫o. Says Kabeer, one who knows the secret of this mystery, ਮਨੁ ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨੁ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਦੇਉ ॥੩॥੨੮॥ मनु मधुसूदनु त्रिभवण देउ ॥३॥२८॥ Man maḏẖusūḏan ṯaribẖavaṇ ḏe▫o. ||3||28|| beholds within his own mind the Lord of the three worlds. ||3||28|| |
