ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਸਭ ਬਿਖੁ ਹੈ ਨਿਤ ਜਗਿ ਤੋਟਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥ हउमै माइआ सभ बिखु है नित जगि तोटा संसारि ॥ Ha▫umai mā▫i▫ā sabẖ bikẖ hai niṯ jag ṯotā sansār. Egotism and Maya are total poison; in these, people continually suffer loss in this world. ਮਃ ੪ ॥ मः ४ ॥ Mėhlā 4. Fourth Mehl: ਲਾਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਖਟਿਆ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ लाहा हरि धनु खटिआ गुरमुखि सबदु वीचारि ॥ Lāhā har ḏẖan kẖati▫ā gurmukẖ sabaḏ vīcẖār. The Gurmukh earns the profit of the wealth of the Lord's Name, contemplating the Word of the Shabad. ਹਉਮੈ ਮੈਲੁ ਬਿਖੁ ਉਤਰੈ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ हउमै मैलु बिखु उतरै हरि अम्रितु हरि उर धारि ॥ Ha▫umai mail bikẖ uṯrai har amriṯ har ur ḏẖār. The poisonous filth of egotism is removed, when one enshrines the Ambrosial Name of the Lord within the heart. ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਸੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿ ॥੨॥ नानक जो धुरि मिले से मिलि रहे हरि मेले सिरजणहारि ॥२॥ Nānak jo ḏẖur mile se mil rahe har mele sirjaṇhār. ||2|| O Nanak, one who meets the Primal Lord remains blended with the Lord, the Creator Lord. ||2|| ਸਭਿ ਕਾਰਜ ਤਿਨ ਕੇ ਸਿਧਿ ਹਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ सभि कारज तिन के सिधि हहि जिन गुरमुखि किरपा धारि ॥ Sabẖ kāraj ṯin ke siḏẖ hėh jin gurmukẖ kirpā ḏẖār. All the Gurmukh's affairs are brought to perfect completion; the Lord has showered him with His Mercy.
