ਪੰਚਮਿ ਪੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਤੇ ਜਿਹ ਜਾਨਿਓ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ॥ पंचमि पंच प्रधान ते जिह जानिओ परपंचु ॥ Pancham panch parḋʰaan ṫé jih jaani▫o parpanch. The fifth day of the lunar cycle: They are the self-elect, the most distinguished, who know the true nature of the world. ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛee. Pauree: ਕੁਸਮ ਬਾਸ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਘਣੋ ਸਭ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਬਲਬੰਚੁ ॥ कुसम बास बहु रंगु घणो सभ मिथिआ बलबंचु ॥ Kusam baas baho rang gʰaṇo sabʰ miṫʰi▫aa balbanch. The many colors and scents of flowers - all worldly deceptions are transitory and false. ਨਹ ਜਾਪੈ ਨਹ ਬੂਝੀਐ ਨਹ ਕਛੁ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ नह जापै नह बूझीऐ नह कछु करत बीचारु ॥ Nah jaapæ nah boojʰee▫æ nah kachʰ karaṫ beechaar. People do not see, and they do not understand; they do not reflect upon anything. ਸੁਆਦ ਮੋਹ ਰਸ ਬੇਧਿਓ ਅਗਿਆਨਿ ਰਚਿਓ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ सुआद मोह रस बेधिओ अगिआनि रचिओ संसारु ॥ Su▫aaḋ moh ras béḋʰi▫o agi▫aan rachi▫o sansaar. The world is pierced through with attachment to tastes and pleasures, engrossed in ignorance. ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਬਹੁ ਜੋਨਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਣ ਕੀਨੇ ਕਰਮ ਅਨੇਕ ॥ जनम मरण बहु जोनि भ्रमण कीने करम अनेक ॥ Janam maraṇ baho jon bʰarmaṇ keené karam anék. Those who perform empty religious rituals will be born, only to die again. They wander through endless incarnations. ਰਚਨਹਾਰੁ ਨਹ ਸਿਮਰਿਓ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਬਿਬੇਕ ॥ रचनहारु नह सिमरिओ मनि न बीचारि बिबेक ॥ Rachanhaar nah simri▫o man na beechaar bibék. They do not meditate in remembrance of the Creator Lord; their minds do not understand. ਭਾਉ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਗਵਾਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਲਿਪਤ ਨ ਰੰਚ ॥ भाउ भगति भगवान संगि माइआ लिपत न रंच ॥ Bʰaa▫o bʰagaṫ bʰagvaan sang maa▫i▫aa lipaṫ na ranch. By loving devotion to the Lord God, you shall not be polluted by Maya at all. ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਰਲੇ ਪਾਈਅਹਿ ਜੋ ਨ ਰਚਹਿ ਪਰਪੰਚ ॥੫॥ नानक बिरले पाईअहि जो न रचहि परपंच ॥५॥ Naanak birlé paa▫ee▫ah jo na rachėh parpanch. ||5|| O Nanak! How rare are those who are not engrossed in worldly entanglements. ||5|| ਭਗਤ ਸੋਹਹਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤੇ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰ ॥੬॥ भगत सोहहि गुण गावते नानक प्रभ कै दुआर ॥६॥ Bʰagaṫ sohėh guṇ gaavṫé Naanak parabʰ kæ ḋu▫aar. ||6|| The devotees look beauteous, O Nanak! When they sing the Glories of God at His Door. ||6|| ਖਟ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਊਚੌ ਕਹਹਿ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰ ॥ खट सासत्र ऊचौ कहहि अंतु न पारावार ॥ Kʰat saasṫar oochou kahėh anṫ na paaraavaar. The six Shastras proclaim Him to be the greatest; He has no end or limitation.
