ਙੰਙਾ ਖਟੁ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਹੋਇ ਙਿਆਤਾ ॥ ङंङा खटु सासत्र होइ ङिआता ॥ Ńańā kẖat sāsṯar ho▫e ńi▫āṯā. NGANGA: He may be a scholar of the six Shaastras. ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛī. Pauree: ਪੂਰਕੁ ਕੁੰਭਕ ਰੇਚਕ ਕਰਮਾਤਾ ॥ पूरकु कु्मभक रेचक करमाता ॥ Pūrak kumbẖak recẖak karmāṯā. He may practice inhaling, exhaling and holding the breath. ਙਿਆਨ ਧਿਆਨ ਤੀਰਥ ਇਸਨਾਨੀ ॥ ङिआन धिआन तीरथ इसनानी ॥ Ńi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān ṯirath isnānī. He may practice spiritual wisdom, meditation, pilgrimages to sacred shrines and ritual cleansing baths. ਸੋਮਪਾਕ ਅਪਰਸ ਉਦਿਆਨੀ ॥ सोमपाक अपरस उदिआनी ॥ Sompāk apras uḏi▫ānī. He may cook his own food, and never touch anyone else's; he may live in the wilderness like a hermit. ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਸੰਗਿ ਮਨਿ ਨਹੀ ਹੇਤਾ ॥ राम नाम संगि मनि नही हेता ॥ Rām nām sang man nahī heṯā. But if he does not enshrine love for the Lord's Name within his heart, ਜੋ ਕਛੁ ਕੀਨੋ ਸੋਊ ਅਨੇਤਾ ॥ जो कछु कीनो सोऊ अनेता ॥ Jo kacẖẖ kīno so▫ū aneṯā. then everything he does is transitory. ਉਆ ਤੇ ਊਤਮੁ ਗਨਉ ਚੰਡਾਲਾ ॥ उआ ते ऊतमु गनउ चंडाला ॥ U▫ā ṯe ūṯam gan▫o cẖandalā. Even an untouchable pariah is superior to him, ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਹ ਮਨਿ ਬਸਹਿ ਗੁਪਾਲਾ ॥੧੬॥ नानक जिह मनि बसहि गुपाला ॥१६॥ Nānak jih man basėh gupālā. ||16|| O Nanak, if the Lord of the World abides in his mind. ||16|| |
