ਕੁੰਗੂ ਕੀ ਕਾਂਇਆ ਰਤਨਾ ਕੀ ਲਲਿਤਾ ਅਗਰਿ ਵਾਸੁ ਤਨਿ ਸਾਸੁ ॥ कुंगू की कांइआ रतना की ललिता अगरि वासु तनि सासु ॥ Kungoo kee kaaⁿ▫i▫aa raṫnaa kee laliṫaa agar vaas ṫan saas. With the body of saffron, and the tongue a jewel, and the breath of the body pure fragrant incense; ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ सिरीरागु महला १ ॥ Sireeraag mėhlaa 1. Siree Raag, First Mehl: ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਟਿਕਾ ਤਿਤੁ ਘਟਿ ਮਤਿ ਵਿਗਾਸੁ ॥ अठसठि तीरथ का मुखि टिका तितु घटि मति विगासु ॥ Atʰsatʰ ṫiraṫʰ kaa mukʰ tikaa ṫiṫ gʰat maṫ vigaas. with the face anointed at the sixty-eight holy places of pilgrimage, and the heart illuminated with wisdom - ਓਤੁ ਮਤੀ ਸਾਲਾਹਣਾ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਗੁਣਤਾਸੁ ॥੧॥ ओतु मती सालाहणा सचु नामु गुणतासु ॥१॥ Oṫ maṫee salaahṇaa sach naam guṇṫaas. ||1|| with that wisdom, chant the Praises of the True Name, the Treasure of Excellence. ||1|| ਬਾਬਾ ਹੋਰ ਮਤਿ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ॥ बाबा होर मति होर होर ॥ Baabaa hor maṫ hor hor. O Baba, other wisdom is useless and irrelevant. ਜੇ ਸਉ ਵੇਰ ਕਮਾਈਐ ਕੂੜੈ ਕੂੜਾ ਜੋਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जे सउ वेर कमाईऐ कूड़ै कूड़ा जोरु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jé sa▫o vér kamaa▫ee▫æ kooṛæ kooṛaa jor. ||1|| rahaa▫o. If falsehood is practiced a hundred times, it is still false in its effects. ||1||Pause|| ਪੂਜ ਲਗੈ ਪੀਰੁ ਆਖੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥ पूज लगै पीरु आखीऐ सभु मिलै संसारु ॥ Pooj lagæ peer aakʰee▫æ sabʰ milæ sansaar. You may be worshiped and adored as a Pir (a spiritual teacher); you may be welcomed by all the world; ਨਾਉ ਸਦਾਏ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਸਿਧੁ ਸੁਮਾਰੁ ॥ नाउ सदाए आपणा होवै सिधु सुमारु ॥ Naa▫o saḋaa▫é aapṇaa hovæ siḋʰ sumaar. you may adopt a lofty name, and be known to have supernatural spiritual powers - ਜਾ ਪਤਿ ਲੇਖੈ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਸਭਾ ਪੂਜ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥੨॥ जा पति लेखै ना पवै सभा पूज खुआरु ॥२॥ Jaa paṫ lékʰæ naa pavæ sabʰaa pooj kʰu▫aar. ||2|| even so, if you are not accepted in the Court of the Lord, then all this adoration is false. ||2|| ਜਿਨ ਕਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਥਾਪਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਮੇਟਿ ਨ ਸਕੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ जिन कउ सतिगुरि थापिआ तिन मेटि न सकै कोइ ॥ Jin ka▫o saṫgur ṫʰaapi▫aa ṫin mét na sakæ ko▫é. No one can overthrow those who have been established by the True Guru. ਓਨਾ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਨਾਮੋ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ ओना अंदरि नामु निधानु है नामो परगटु होइ ॥ Onaa anḋar naam niḋʰaan hæ naamo pargat ho▫é. The Treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is within them, and through the Naam, they are radiant and famous. ਨਾਉ ਪੂਜੀਐ ਨਾਉ ਮੰਨੀਐ ਅਖੰਡੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੩॥ नाउ पूजीऐ नाउ मंनीऐ अखंडु सदा सचु सोइ ॥३॥ Naa▫o poojee▫æ naa▫o mannee▫æ akʰand saḋaa sach so▫é. ||3|| They worship the Naam, and they believe in the Naam. The True One is forever Intact and Unbroken. ||3|| ਜਲੀਆ ਸਭਿ ਸਿਆਣਪਾ ਉਠੀ ਚਲਿਆ ਰੋਇ ॥ जलीआ सभि सिआणपा उठी चलिआ रोइ ॥ Jalee▫aa sabʰ si▫aaṇpaa utʰee chali▫aa ro▫é. All clever tricks are burnt away, and you shall depart crying. ਖੇਹੂ ਖੇਹ ਰਲਾਈਐ ਤਾ ਜੀਉ ਕੇਹਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ खेहू खेह रलाईऐ ता जीउ केहा होइ ॥ Kʰéhoo kʰéh ralaa▫ee▫æ ṫaa jee▫o kéhaa ho▫é. When the body mingles with dust, what happens to the soul? ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਐ ਦਰਿ ਗਇਆ ਕਿਆ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੮॥ नानक नामि विसारिऐ दरि गइआ किआ होइ ॥४॥८॥ Naanak naam visaari▫æ ḋar ga▫i▫aa ki▫aa ho▫é. ||4||8|| O Nanak! Those who forget the Naam-what will happen when they go to the Court of the Lord? ||4||8||
