ਜੈਸੇ ਬਚਰਹਿ ਕੂੰਜ ਮਨ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਮਤਾ ਰੇ ॥੧੨੩॥
जैसे बचरहि कूंज मन माइआ ममता रे ॥१२३॥
Jaise bacẖrahi kūʼnj man mā▫i▫ā mamṯā re. ||123||
Just as the chicks are very dear to flamingo, so is the love of wealth and Maya to the mortal's mind. ||123||

ਕਬੀਰ ਚੁਗੈ ਚਿਤਾਰੈ ਭੀ ਚੁਗੈ ਚੁਗਿ ਚੁਗਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ
कबीर चुगै चितारै भी चुगै चुगि चुगि चितारे ॥
Kabīr cẖugai cẖiṯārai bẖī cẖugai cẖug cẖug cẖiṯāre.
Kabeer, the flamingo pecks and feeds, and remembers her chicks. She pecks and pecks and feeds, and remembers them always.

ਕਬੀਰ ਅੰਬਰ ਘਨਹਰੁ ਛਾਇਆ ਬਰਖਿ ਭਰੇ ਸਰ ਤਾਲ
कबीर अम्बर घनहरु छाइआ बरखि भरे सर ताल ॥
Kabīr ambar gẖanhar cẖẖā▫i▫ā barakẖ bẖare sar ṯāl.
Kabeer, the sky is overcast and cloudy; the ponds and lakes are overflowing with water.

ਚਾਤ੍ਰਿਕ ਜਿਉ ਤਰਸਤ ਰਹੈ ਤਿਨ ਕੋ ਕਉਨੁ ਹਵਾਲੁ ॥੧੨੪॥
चात्रिक जिउ तरसत रहै तिन को कउनु हवालु ॥१२४॥
Cẖāṯrik ji▫o ṯarsaṯ rahai ṯin ko ka▫un havāl. ||124||
Like the rainbird, some remain thirsty - what is their condition? ||124||

ਕਬੀਰ ਚਕਈ ਜਉ ਨਿਸਿ ਬੀਛੁਰੈ ਆਇ ਮਿਲੈ ਪਰਭਾਤਿ
कबीर चकई जउ निसि बीछुरै आइ मिलै परभाति ॥
Kabīr cẖak▫ī ja▫o nis bīcẖẖurai ā▫e milai parbẖāṯ.
Kabeer, the chakvi duck is separated from her love through the night, but in the morning, she meets him again.

ਜੋ ਨਰ ਬਿਛੁਰੇ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਉ ਨਾ ਦਿਨ ਮਿਲੇ ਰਾਤਿ ॥੧੨੫॥
जो नर बिछुरे राम सिउ ना दिन मिले न राति ॥१२५॥
Jo nar bicẖẖure rām si▫o nā ḏin mile na rāṯ. ||125||
Those who are separated from the Lord do not meet Him in the day, or in the night. ||125||

ਕਬੀਰ ਰੈਨਾਇਰ ਬਿਛੋਰਿਆ ਰਹੁ ਰੇ ਸੰਖ ਮਝੂਰਿ
कबीर रैनाइर बिछोरिआ रहु रे संख मझूरि ॥
Kabīr rainā▫ir bicẖẖori▫ā rahu re sankẖ majẖūr.
Kabeer: O conch shell, remain in the ocean.

ਦੇਵਲ ਦੇਵਲ ਧਾਹੜੀ ਦੇਸਹਿ ਉਗਵਤ ਸੂਰ ॥੧੨੬॥
देवल देवल धाहड़ी देसहि उगवत सूर ॥१२६॥
Ḏeval ḏeval ḏẖāhṛī ḏesėh ugvaṯ sūr. ||126||
If you are separated from it, you shall scream at sunrise from temple to temple. ||126||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸੂਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਜਾਗੁ ਰੋਇ ਭੈ ਦੁਖ
कबीर सूता किआ करहि जागु रोइ भै दुख ॥
Kabīr sūṯā ki▫ā karahi jāg ro▫e bẖai ḏukẖ.
Kabeer, what are you doing sleeping? Wake up and cry in fear and pain.

ਜਾ ਕਾ ਬਾਸਾ ਗੋਰ ਮਹਿ ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਸੋਵੈ ਸੁਖ ॥੧੨੭॥
जा का बासा गोर महि सो किउ सोवै सुख ॥१२७॥
Jā kā bāsā gor mėh so ki▫o sovai sukẖ. ||127||
Those who live in the grave - how can they sleep in peace? ||127||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸੂਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਉਠਿ ਕਿ ਜਪਹਿ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ
कबीर सूता किआ करहि उठि कि न जपहि मुरारि ॥
Kabīr sūṯā ki▫ā karahi uṯẖ kė na jāpėh murār.
Kabeer, what are you doing sleeping? Why not rise up and meditate on the Lord?

ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਸੋਵਨੁ ਹੋਇਗੋ ਲਾਂਬੇ ਗੋਡ ਪਸਾਰਿ ॥੧੨੮॥
इक दिन सोवनु होइगो लांबे गोड पसारि ॥१२८॥
Ik ḏin sovan ho▫igo lāʼnbe god pasār. ||128||
One day you shall sleep with your legs outstretched. ||128||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸੂਤਾ ਕਿਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਬੈਠਾ ਰਹੁ ਅਰੁ ਜਾਗੁ
कबीर सूता किआ करहि बैठा रहु अरु जागु ॥
Kabīr sūṯā ki▫ā karahi baiṯẖā rahu ar jāg.
Kabeer, what are you doing sleeping? Wake up, and sit up.

ਜਾ ਕੇ ਸੰਗ ਤੇ ਬੀਛੁਰਾ ਤਾ ਹੀ ਕੇ ਸੰਗਿ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੧੨੯॥
जा के संग ते बीछुरा ता ही के संगि लागु ॥१२९॥
Jā ke sang ṯe bīcẖẖurā ṯā hī ke sang lāg. ||129||
Attach yourself to the One, from whom you have been separated. ||129||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸੰਤ ਕੀ ਗੈਲ ਛੋਡੀਐ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਜਾਉ
कबीर संत की गैल न छोडीऐ मारगि लागा जाउ ॥
Kabīr sanṯ kī gail na cẖẖodī▫ai mārag lāgā jā▫o.
Kabeer, do not leave the Society of the Saints; walk upon this Path.

ਪੇਖਤ ਹੀ ਪੁੰਨੀਤ ਹੋਇ ਭੇਟਤ ਜਪੀਐ ਨਾਉ ॥੧੩੦॥
पेखत ही पुंनीत होइ भेटत जपीऐ नाउ ॥१३०॥
Pekẖaṯ hī punnīṯ ho▫e bẖetaṯ japī▫ai nā▫o. ||130||
See them, and be sanctified; meet them, and chant the Name. ||130||

ਕਬੀਰ ਸਾਕਤ ਸੰਗੁ ਕੀਜੀਐ ਦੂਰਹਿ ਜਾਈਐ ਭਾਗਿ
कबीर साकत संगु न कीजीऐ दूरहि जाईऐ भागि ॥
Kabīr sākaṯ sang na kījī▫ai ḏūrėh jā▫ī▫ai bẖāg.
Kabeer, do not associate with the faithless cynics; run far away from them.

ਕਬੀਰਾ ਰਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਜਰਾ ਪਹੂੰਚਿਓ ਆਇ
कबीरा रामु न चेतिओ जरा पहूंचिओ आइ ॥
Kabīrā rām na cẖeṯi▫o jarā pahūʼncẖi▫o ā▫e.
Kabeer, you have not contemplated the Lord, and now old age has overtaken you.

ਬਾਸਨੁ ਕਾਰੋ ਪਰਸੀਐ ਤਉ ਕਛੁ ਲਾਗੈ ਦਾਗੁ ॥੧੩੧॥
बासनु कारो परसीऐ तउ कछु लागै दागु ॥१३१॥
Bāsan kāro parsī▫ai ṯa▫o kacẖẖ lāgai ḏāg. ||131||
If you touch a vessel stained with soot, some of the soot will stick to you. ||131||

ਲਾਗੀ ਮੰਦਿਰ ਦੁਆਰ ਤੇ ਅਬ ਕਿਆ ਕਾਢਿਆ ਜਾਇ ॥੧੩੨॥
लागी मंदिर दुआर ते अब किआ काढिआ जाइ ॥१३२॥
Lāgī manḏir ḏu▫ār ṯe ab ki▫ā kādẖi▫ā jā▫e. ||132||
Now that the door of your mansion is on fire, what can you take out? ||132||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਰਨੁ ਸੋ ਭਇਓ ਜੋ ਕੀਨੋ ਕਰਤਾਰਿ
कबीर कारनु सो भइओ जो कीनो करतारि ॥
Kabīr kāran so bẖa▫i▫o jo kīno karṯār.
Kabeer, the Creator does whatever He pleases.

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਸਰੁ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਏਕੈ ਸਿਰਜਨਹਾਰੁ ॥੧੩੩॥
तिसु बिनु दूसरु को नही एकै सिरजनहारु ॥१३३॥
Ŧis bin ḏūsar ko nahī ekai sirjanhār. ||133||
There is none other than Him; He alone is the Creator of all. ||133||

ਕਬੀਰ ਫਲ ਲਾਗੇ ਫਲਨਿ ਪਾਕਨਿ ਲਾਗੇ ਆਂਬ
कबीर फल लागे फलनि पाकनि लागे आंब ॥
Kabīr fal lāge falan pākan lāge āʼnb.
Kabeer, the fruit trees are bearing fruit, and the mangoes are becoming ripe.

ਜਾਇ ਪਹੂਚਹਿ ਖਸਮ ਕਉ ਜਉ ਬੀਚਿ ਖਾਹੀ ਕਾਂਬ ॥੧੩੪॥
जाइ पहूचहि खसम कउ जउ बीचि न खाही कांब ॥१३४॥
Jā▫e pahūcẖėh kẖasam ka▫o ja▫o bīcẖ na kẖāhī kāʼnb. ||134||
They will reach the owner, only if the crows do not eat them first. ||134||

ਕਬੀਰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਪੂਜਹਿ ਮੋਲਿ ਲੇ ਮਨਹਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਾਹਿ
कबीर ठाकुरु पूजहि मोलि ले मनहठि तीरथ जाहि ॥
Kabīr ṯẖākur pūjėh mol le manhaṯẖ ṯirath jāhi.
Kabeer, some buy idols and worship them; in their stubborn-mindedness, they make pilgrimages to sacred shrines.

ਦੇਖਾ ਦੇਖੀ ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗੁ ਧਰਿ ਭੂਲੇ ਭਟਕਾ ਖਾਹਿ ॥੧੩੫॥
देखा देखी स्वांगु धरि भूले भटका खाहि ॥१३५॥
Ḏekẖā ḏekẖī savāʼng ḏẖar bẖūle bẖatkā kẖāhi. ||135||
They look at one another, and wear religious robes, but they are deluded and lost. ||135||

ਕਬੀਰ ਪਾਹਨੁ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰੁ ਕੀਆ ਪੂਜੈ ਸਭੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ
कबीर पाहनु परमेसुरु कीआ पूजै सभु संसारु ॥
Kabīr pāhan parmesur kī▫ā pūjai sabẖ sansār.
Kabeer, someone sets up a stone idol and all the world worships it as the Lord.

ਇਸ ਭਰਵਾਸੇ ਜੋ ਰਹੇ ਬੂਡੇ ਕਾਲੀ ਧਾਰ ॥੧੩੬॥
इस भरवासे जो रहे बूडे काली धार ॥१३६॥
Is bẖarvāse jo rahe būde kālī ḏẖār. ||136||
Those who hold to this belief will be drowned in the river of darkness. ||136||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਗਦ ਕੀ ਓਬਰੀ ਮਸੁ ਕੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਪਾਟ
कबीर कागद की ओबरी मसु के करम कपाट ॥
Kabīr kāgaḏ kī obrī mas ke karam kapāt.
Kabeer, the paper is the prison, and the ink of rituals are the bars on the windows.

ਪਾਹਨ ਬੋਰੀ ਪਿਰਥਮੀ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪਾੜੀ ਬਾਟ ॥੧੩੭॥
पाहन बोरी पिरथमी पंडित पाड़ी बाट ॥१३७॥
Pāhan borī pirathmī pandiṯ pāṛī bāt. ||137||
The stone idols have drowned the world, and the Pandits, the religious scholars, have plundered it on the way. ||137||

ਕਬੀਰ ਕਾਲਿ ਕਰੰਤਾ ਅਬਹਿ ਕਰੁ ਅਬ ਕਰਤਾ ਸੁਇ ਤਾਲ
कबीर कालि करंता अबहि करु अब करता सुइ ताल ॥
Kabīr kāl karanṯā abėh kar ab karṯā su▫e ṯāl.
Kabeer, that which you have to do tomorrow - do it today instead; and that which you have to do now - do it immediately!

ਪਾਛੈ ਕਛੂ ਹੋਇਗਾ ਜਉ ਸਿਰ ਪਰਿ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਲੁ ॥੧੩੮॥
पाछै कछू न होइगा जउ सिर परि आवै कालु ॥१३८॥
Pācẖẖai kacẖẖū na ho▫igā ja▫o sir par āvai kāl. ||138||
Later on, you will not be able to do anything, when death hangs over your head. ||138||

ਕਬੀਰ ਐਸਾ ਜੰਤੁ ਇਕੁ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜੈਸੀ ਧੋਈ ਲਾਖ
कबीर ऐसा जंतु इकु देखिआ जैसी धोई लाख ॥
Kabīr aisā janṯ ik ḏekẖi▫ā jaisī ḏẖo▫ī lākẖ.
Kabeer, I have seen a person, who is as shiny as washed wax.

ਦੀਸੈ ਚੰਚਲੁ ਬਹੁ ਗੁਨਾ ਮਤਿ ਹੀਨਾ ਨਾਪਾਕ ॥੧੩੯॥
दीसै चंचलु बहु गुना मति हीना नापाक ॥१३९॥
Ḏīsai cẖancẖal baho gunā maṯ hīnā nāpāk. ||139||
He seems very clever and very virtuous, but in reality, he is without understanding, and corrupt. ||139||

ਕਬੀਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਬੁਧਿ ਕਉ ਜਮੁ ਕਰੈ ਤਿਸਕਾਰ
कबीर मेरी बुधि कउ जमु न करै तिसकार ॥
Kabīr merī buḏẖ ka▫o jam na karai ṯiskār.
Kabeer, the Messenger of Death shall not compromise my understanding.

ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਜਮੂਆ ਸਿਰਜਿਆ ਸੁ ਜਪਿਆ ਪਰਵਿਦਗਾਰ ॥੧੪੦॥
जिनि इहु जमूआ सिरजिआ सु जपिआ परविदगार ॥१४०॥
Jin ih jamū▫ā sirji▫ā so japi▫ā parviḏagār. ||140||
I have meditated on the Lord, the Cherisher, who created this Messenger of Death. ||140||

ਕਬੀਰੁ ਕਸਤੂਰੀ ਭਇਆ ਭਵਰ ਭਏ ਸਭ ਦਾਸ
कबीरु कसतूरी भइआ भवर भए सभ दास ॥
Kabīr kasṯūrī bẖa▫i▫ā bẖavar bẖa▫e sabẖ ḏās.
Kabeer, the Lord is like musk; all His slaves are like bumble bees.
