ਆਸਾੜੁ ਤਪੰਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੁ ਨ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਪਾਸਿ ॥

ਜਗਜੀਵਨ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਕੈ ਮਾਣਸ ਸੰਦੀ ਆਸ
जगजीवन पुरखु तिआगि कै माणस संदी आस ॥
Jagjīvan purakẖ ṯi▫āg kai māṇas sanḏī ās.
They have forsaken God the Primal Being, the Life of the World, and they have come to rely upon mere mortals.

ਆਸਾੜੁ ਤਪੰਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੁ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਪਾਸਿ
आसाड़ु तपंदा तिसु लगै हरि नाहु न जिंना पासि ॥
Āsāṛ ṯapanḏā ṯis lagai har nāhu na jinna pās.
The month of Aasaarh seems burning hot, to those who are not close to their Husband Lord.

ਜੇਹਾ ਬੀਜੈ ਸੋ ਲੁਣੈ ਮਥੈ ਜੋ ਲਿਖਿਆਸੁ
जेहा बीजै सो लुणै मथै जो लिखिआसु ॥
Jehā bījai so luṇai mathai jo likẖi▫ās.
As you plant, so shall you harvest; your destiny is recorded on your forehead.

ਦੁਯੈ ਭਾਇ ਵਿਗੁਚੀਐ ਗਲਿ ਪਈਸੁ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸ
दुयै भाइ विगुचीऐ गलि पईसु जम की फास ॥
Ḏuyai bẖā▫e vigucẖī▫ai gal pa▫īs jam kī fās.
In the love of duality, the soul-bride is ruined; around her neck she wears the noose of Death.

ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ਪਛੁਤਾਣੀ ਉਠਿ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ ਨਿਰਾਸ
रैणि विहाणी पछुताणी उठि चली गई निरास ॥
Raiṇ vihāṇī pacẖẖuṯāṇī uṯẖ cẖalī ga▫ī nirās.
The life-night passes away, and in the end, one comes to regret and repent, and then depart with no hope at all.

ਜਿਨ ਕੌ ਸਾਧੂ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਸੋ ਦਰਗਹ ਹੋਇ ਖਲਾਸੁ
जिन कौ साधू भेटीऐ सो दरगह होइ खलासु ॥
Jin kou sāḏẖū bẖetī▫ai so ḏargėh ho▫e kẖalās.
Those who meet with the Holy Saints are liberated in the Court of the Lord.

ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪਣੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਦਰਸਨ ਹੋਇ ਪਿਆਸ
करि किरपा प्रभ आपणी तेरे दरसन होइ पिआस ॥
Kar kirpā parabẖ āpṇī ṯere ḏarsan ho▫e pi▫ās.
Show Your Mercy to me, O God; I am thirsty for the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ
प्रभ तुधु बिनु दूजा को नही नानक की अरदासि ॥
Parabẖ ṯuḏẖ bin ḏūjā ko nahī Nānak kī arḏās.
Without You, God, there is no other at all. This is Nanak's humble prayer.

ਆਸਾੜੁ ਸੁਹੰਦਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਲਗੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਮਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥੫॥
आसाड़ु सुहंदा तिसु लगै जिसु मनि हरि चरण निवास ॥५॥
Āsāṛ suhanḏā ṯis lagai jis man har cẖaraṇ nivās. ||5||
The month of Aasaarh is pleasant, when the Feet of the Lord abide in the mind. ||5||
