ਬਾਬੀਹਾ ਜਲ ਮਹਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਵਾਸੁ ਹੈ ਜਲ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਫਿਰਾਹਿ ॥ बाबीहा जल महि तेरा वासु है जल ही माहि फिराहि ॥ Bābīhā jal mėh ṯerā vās hai jal hī māhi firāhi. O rainbird, your place is in the water; you move around in the water. ਮਃ ੩ ॥ मः ३ ॥ Mėhlā 3. Third Mehl: ਜਲ ਥਲ ਚਹੁ ਦਿਸਿ ਵਰਸਦਾ ਖਾਲੀ ਕੋ ਥਾਉ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ जल थल चहु दिसि वरसदा खाली को थाउ नाहि ॥ Jal thal cẖahu ḏis varasḏā kẖālī ko thā▫o nāhi. In the water and on the land, it rains down in the ten directions. No place is left dry. ਜਲ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣਹੀ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਕੂਕਣ ਪਾਹਿ ॥ जल की सार न जाणही तां तूं कूकण पाहि ॥ Jal kī sār na jāṇhī ṯāʼn ṯūʼn kūkaṇ pāhi. But you do not appreciate the water, and so you cry out. ਏਤੈ ਜਲਿ ਵਰਸਦੈ ਤਿਖ ਮਰਹਿ ਭਾਗ ਤਿਨਾ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥ एतै जलि वरसदै तिख मरहि भाग तिना के नाहि ॥ Ėṯai jal varsaḏai ṯikẖ marėh bẖāg ṯinā ke nāhi. With so much rain, those who are die of thirst are very unfortunate. ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਈ ਜਿਨ ਵਸਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥ नानक गुरमुखि तिन सोझी पई जिन वसिआ मन माहि ॥२॥ Nānak gurmukẖ ṯin sojẖī pa▫ī jin vasi▫ā man māhi. ||2|| O Nanak, the Gurmukhs understand; the Lord abides within their minds. ||2||
