ਮਲਾਰ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ मलार महला ३ ॥ Malār mėhlā 3. Malaar, Third Mehl: ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਲਦਿਆ ਅਜਗਰ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ हउमै बिखु मनु मोहिआ लदिआ अजगर भारी ॥ Ha▫umai bikẖ man mohi▫ā laḏi▫ā ajgar bẖārī. The mortal is enticed by the poison of corruption, burdened with such a heavy load. ਗਰੁੜੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਮੁਖਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਉਮੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ गरुड़ु सबदु मुखि पाइआ हउमै बिखु हरि मारी ॥१॥ Garuṛ sabaḏ mukẖ pā▫i▫ā ha▫umai bikẖ har mārī. ||1|| The Lord has placed the magic spell of the Shabad into his mouth, and destroyed the poison of ego. ||1|| ਮਨ ਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ मन रे हउमै मोहु दुखु भारी ॥ Man re ha▫umai moh ḏukẖ bẖārī. O mortal, egotism and attachment are such heavy loads of pain. ਇਹੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਤਰਣਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਰੁ ਹਰਿ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ इहु भवजलु जगतु न जाई तरणा गुरमुखि तरु हरि तारी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ih bẖavjal jagaṯ na jā▫ī ṯarṇā gurmukẖ ṯar har ṯārī. ||1|| rahā▫o. This terrifying world-ocean cannot be crossed; through the Lord's Name, the Gurmukh crosses over to the other side. ||1||Pause|| ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਸਭ ਵਰਤੈ ਆਕਾਰੀ ॥ त्रै गुण माइआ मोहु पसारा सभ वरतै आकारी ॥ Ŧarai guṇ mā▫i▫ā moh pasārā sabẖ varṯai ākārī. Attachment to the three-phased show of Maya pervades all the created forms. ਤੁਰੀਆ ਗੁਣੁ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰੀ ॥੨॥ तुरीआ गुणु सतसंगति पाईऐ नदरी पारि उतारी ॥२॥ Ŧurī▫ā guṇ saṯsangaṯ pā▫ī▫ai naḏrī pār uṯārī. ||2|| In the Sat Sangat, the Society of the Saints, the state of supreme awareness is attained. The Merciful Lord carries us across. ||2|| ਚੰਦਨ ਗੰਧ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਹੈ ਬਹੁ ਬਾਸਨਾ ਬਹਕਾਰਿ ॥ चंदन गंध सुगंध है बहु बासना बहकारि ॥ Cẖanḏan ganḏẖ suganḏẖ hai baho bāsnā bėhkār. The smell of sandalwood is so sublime; its fragrance spreads out far and wide. ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਰਣੀ ਊਤਮ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਜਗਿ ਬਿਸਥਾਰਿ ॥੩॥ हरि जन करणी ऊतम है हरि कीरति जगि बिसथारि ॥३॥ Har jan karṇī ūṯam hai har kīraṯ jag bisthār. ||3|| The lifestyle of the Lord's humble servant is exalted and sublime. He spreads the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises throughout the world. ||3|| ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ क्रिपा क्रिपा करि ठाकुर मेरे हरि हरि हरि उर धारि ॥ Kirpā kirpā kar ṯẖākur mere har har har ur ḏẖār. O my Lord and Master, please be merciful, merciful to me, that I may enshrine the Lord, Har, Har, Har, within my heart. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਨਿ ਜਪਿਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੯॥ नानक सतिगुरु पूरा पाइआ मनि जपिआ नामु मुरारि ॥४॥९॥ Nānak saṯgur pūrā pā▫i▫ā man japi▫ā nām murār. ||4||9|| Nanak has found the Perfect True Guru; in his mind, he chants the Name of the Lord. ||4||9||
