ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ सारग महला ५ ॥ Sārag mėhlā 5. Saarang, Fifth Mehl: ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮਹੀਨ ਬੇਤਾਲ ॥ हरि के नामहीन बेताल ॥ Har ke nāmhīn beṯāl. Without the Name of the Lord, the mortal is a ghost. ਬਿਨੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਤ ਅਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਾਟੈ ਕਾਲ ॥ बिनु प्रभ सेव करत अन सेवा बिरथा काटै काल ॥ Bin parabẖ sev karaṯ an sevā birthā kātai kāl. Without serving God, one who serves another wastes his time uselessly. ਜੇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਕਰਾਵਨ ਤੇਤਾ ਸਭਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਜੰਜਾਲ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जेता करन करावन तेता सभि बंधन जंजाल ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jeṯā karan karāvan ṯeṯā sabẖ banḏẖan janjāl. ||1|| rahā▫o. All the actions he commits are just shackles and bonds. ||1||Pause|| ਜਬ ਜਮੁ ਆਇ ਸੰਘਾਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ਤਬ ਤੁਮਰੋ ਕਉਨੁ ਹਵਾਲ ॥੧॥ जब जमु आइ संघारै प्रानी तब तुमरो कउनु हवाल ॥१॥ Jab jam ā▫e sangẖārai parānī ṯab ṯumro ka▫un havāl. ||1|| When the Messenger of Death comes to kill you, O mortal, what will your condition be then? ||1|| ਰਾਖਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਦਾਸ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਕਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥ राखि लेहु दास अपुने कउ सदा सदा किरपाल ॥ Rākẖ leho ḏās apune ka▫o saḏā saḏā kirpāl. Please protect Your slave, O Eternally Merciful Lord. ਸੁਖ ਨਿਧਾਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਧਨ ਮਾਲ ॥੨॥੬੯॥੯੨॥ सुख निधान नानक प्रभु मेरा साधसंगि धन माल ॥२॥६९॥९२॥ Sukẖ niḏẖān Nānak parabẖ merā sāḏẖsang ḏẖan māl. ||2||69||92|| O Nanak, my God is the Treasure of Peace; He is the wealth and property of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ||2||69||92||
