ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ सारग महला ५ ॥ Saarag mėhlaa 5. Saarang, Fifth Mehl: ਸਿਮਰਨ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਮ ॥ सिमरन राम को इकु नाम ॥ Simran raam ko ik naam. Meditate in remembrance of the Naam, the Name of the One Lord. ਕਲਮਲ ਦਗਧ ਹੋਹਿ ਖਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਕੋਟਿ ਦਾਨ ਇਸਨਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ कलमल दगध होहि खिन अंतरि कोटि दान इसनान ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Kalmal ḋagaḋʰ hohi kʰin anṫar kot ḋaan isnaan. ||1|| rahaa▫o. In this way, the sins of your past mistakes shall be burnt off in an instant. It is like giving millions in charity, and bathing at sacred shrines of pilgrimage. ||1||Pause|| ਆਨ ਜੰਜਾਰ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਸ੍ਰਮੁ ਘਾਲਤ ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਫੋਕਟ ਗਿਆਨ ॥ आन जंजार ब्रिथा स्रमु घालत बिनु हरि फोकट गिआन ॥ Aan janjaar bariṫʰa saram gʰaalaṫ bin har fokat gi▫aan. Entangled in other affairs, the mortal suffers uselessly in sorrow. Without the Lord, wisdom is useless. ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਸੰਕਟ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੈ ਜਗਦੀਸ ਭਜਨ ਸੁਖ ਧਿਆਨ ॥੧॥ जनम मरन संकट ते छूटै जगदीस भजन सुख धिआन ॥१॥ Janam maran sankat ṫé chʰootæ jagḋees bʰajan sukʰ ḋʰi▫aan. ||1|| The mortal is freed of the anguish of death and birth, meditating and vibrating on the Blissful Lord of the Universe. ||1|| ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਨਿ ਪੂਰਨ ਸੁਖ ਸਾਗਰ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦਾਨ ॥ तेरी सरनि पूरन सुख सागर करि किरपा देवहु दान ॥ Ṫéree saran pooran sukʰ saagar kar kirpaa ḋévhu ḋaan. I seek Your Sanctuary, O Perfect Lord, Ocean of Peace. Please be merciful, and bless me with this gift. ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀਵੈ ਬਿਨਸਿ ਜਾਇ ਅਭਿਮਾਨ ॥੨॥੬੬॥੮੯॥ सिमरि सिमरि नानक प्रभ जीवै बिनसि जाइ अभिमान ॥२॥६६॥८९॥ Simar simar Naanak parabʰ jeevæ binas jaa▫é abʰimaan. ||2||66||89|| Meditating, meditating in remembrance of God, Nanak lives; his egotistical pride has been eradicated. ||2||66||89||
