ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਜਾਨ ॥ हरि जीउ अंतरजामी जान ॥ Har jī▫o anṯarjāmī jān. The Dear Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ सारग महला ५ ॥ Sārag mėhlā 5. Saarang, Fifth Mehl: ਕਰਤ ਬੁਰਾਈ ਮਾਨੁਖ ਤੇ ਛਪਾਈ ਸਾਖੀ ਭੂਤ ਪਵਾਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ करत बुराई मानुख ते छपाई साखी भूत पवान ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Karaṯ burā▫ī mānukẖ ṯe cẖẖapā▫ī sākẖī bẖūṯ pavān. ||1|| rahā▫o. The mortal does evil deeds, and hides from others, but like the air, the Lord is present everywhere. ||1||Pause|| ਬੈਸਨੌ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤ ਖਟ ਕਰਮਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭ ਜੂਠਾਨ ॥ बैसनौ नामु करत खट करमा अंतरि लोभ जूठान ॥ Baisnou nām karaṯ kẖat karmā anṯar lobẖ jūṯẖān. You call yourself a devotee of Vishnu and you practice the six rituals, but your inner being is polluted with greed. ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਕੀ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਕਰਤੇ ਡੂਬੇ ਸਭ ਅਗਿਆਨ ॥੧॥ संत सभा की निंदा करते डूबे सभ अगिआन ॥१॥ Sanṯ sabẖā kī ninḏā karṯe dūbe sabẖ agi▫ān. ||1|| Those who slander the Society of the Saints, shall all be drowned in their ignorance. ||1|| ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋਮ ਪਾਕੁ ਹਿਰਹਿ ਪਰ ਦਰਬਾ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਝੂਠ ਗੁਮਾਨ ॥ करहि सोम पाकु हिरहि पर दरबा अंतरि झूठ गुमान ॥ Karahi som pāk hirėh par ḏarbā anṯar jẖūṯẖ gumān. The mortal eats the food which he has carefully prepared, and then steals the wealth of others. His inner being is filled with falsehood and pride. ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਬੇਦ ਕੀ ਬਿਧਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਬਿਆਪੇ ਮਨ ਕੈ ਮਾਨ ॥੨॥ सासत्र बेद की बिधि नही जाणहि बिआपे मन कै मान ॥२॥ Sāsṯar beḏ kī biḏẖ nahī jāṇėh bi▫āpe man kai mān. ||2|| He knows nothing of the Vedas or the Shaastras; his mind is gripped by pride. ||2|| ਸੰਧਿਆ ਕਾਲ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਵਰਤਾ ਜਿਉ ਸਫਰੀ ਦੰਫਾਨ ॥ संधिआ काल करहि सभि वरता जिउ सफरी द्मफान ॥ Sanḏẖi▫ā kāl karahi sabẖ varṯā ji▫o safrī ḏamfān. He says his evening prayers, and observes all the fasts, but this is all just a show. ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਭੁਲਾਏ ਊਝੜਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਿਹਫਲ ਸਭਿ ਕਰਮਾਨ ॥੩॥ प्रभू भुलाए ऊझड़ि पाए निहफल सभि करमान ॥३॥ Parabẖū bẖulā▫e ūjẖaṛ pā▫e nihfal sabẖ karmān. ||3|| God made him stray from the path, and sent him into the wilderness. All his actions are useless. ||3|| ਸੋ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਸੋ ਬੈਸਨੌ ਪੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥ सो गिआनी सो बैसनौ पड़्हिआ जिसु करी क्रिपा भगवान ॥ So gi▫ānī so baisnou paṛĥ▫ā jis karī kirpā bẖagvān. He alone is a spiritual teacher, and he alone is a devotee of Vishnu and a scholar, whom the Lord God blesses with His Grace. ਓੁਨਿ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਪਰਮ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਉਧਰਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਬਿਸ੍ਵਾਨ ॥੪॥ ओनि सतिगुरु सेवि परम पदु पाइआ उधरिआ सगल बिस्वान ॥४॥ On saṯgur sev param paḏ pā▫i▫ā uḏẖri▫ā sagal bisvān. ||4|| Serving the True Guru, he obtains the supreme status and saves the whole world. ||4|| ਕਿਆ ਹਮ ਕਥਹ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਥਿ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਣਹ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਵੈ ਬੋੁਲਾਨ ॥ किआ हम कथह किछु कथि नही जाणह प्रभ भावै तिवै बोलान ॥ Ki▫ā ham kathah kicẖẖ kath nahī jāṇah parabẖ bẖāvai ṯivai bolān. What can I say? I don't know what to say. As God wills, so do I speak. ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਇਕ ਮਾਂਗਉ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਇਓ ਸਰਾਨ ॥੫॥੨॥ साधसंगति की धूरि इक मांगउ जन नानक पइओ सरान ॥५॥२॥ Sāḏẖsangaṯ kī ḏẖūr ik māʼnga▫o jan Nānak pa▫i▫o sarān. ||5||2|| I ask only for the dust of the feet of the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Servant Nanak seeks their Sanctuary. ||5||2||
