ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ बसंतु महला ५ ॥ Basanṯ mėhlā 5. Basant, Fifth Mehl: ਮਨ ਤਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਲਾਗੀ ਪਿਆਸ ॥ मन तन भीतरि लागी पिआस ॥ Man ṯan bẖīṯar lāgī pi▫ās. My mind and body are gripped by thirst and desire. ਗੁਰਿ ਦਇਆਲਿ ਪੂਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ॥ गुरि दइआलि पूरी मेरी आस ॥ Gur ḏa▫i▫āl pūrī merī ās. The Merciful Guru has fulfilled my hopes. ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ॥ किलविख काटे साधसंगि ॥ Kilvikẖ kāte sāḏẖsang. In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, all my sins have been taken away. ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ नामु जपिओ हरि नाम रंगि ॥१॥ Nām japi▫o har nām rang. ||1|| I chant the Naam, the Name of the Lord; I am in love with the Name of the Lord. ||1|| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਬਨਾ ॥ गुर परसादि बसंतु बना ॥ Gur parsāḏ basanṯ banā. By Guru's Grace, this spring of the soul has come. ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਉਰਿ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਸੁਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ चरन कमल हिरदै उरि धारे सदा सदा हरि जसु सुना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Cẖaran kamal hirḏai ur ḏẖāre saḏā saḏā har jas sunā. ||1|| rahā▫o. I enshrine the Lord's Lotus Feet within my heart; I listen to the Lord's Praise, forever and ever. ||1||Pause|| ਸਮਰਥ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾਰਣ ਕਰਣ ॥ समरथ सुआमी कारण करण ॥ Samrath su▫āmī kāraṇ karaṇ. Our All-powerful Lord and Master is the Doer of all, the Cause of all causes. ਮੋਹਿ ਅਨਾਥ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣ ॥ मोहि अनाथ प्रभ तेरी सरण ॥ Mohi anāth parabẖ ṯerī saraṇ. I am an orphan - I seek Your Sanctuary, God. ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਤੇਰੇ ਆਧਾਰਿ ॥ जीअ जंत तेरे आधारि ॥ Jī▫a janṯ ṯere āḏẖār. All beings and creatures take Your Support. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਲੇਹਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਿ ॥੨॥ करि किरपा प्रभ लेहि निसतारि ॥२॥ Kar kirpā parabẖ lehi nisṯār. ||2|| Be merciful, God, and save me. ||2|| ਭਵ ਖੰਡਨ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਸ ਦੇਵ ॥ भव खंडन दुख नास देव ॥ Bẖav kẖandan ḏukẖ nās ḏev. God is the Destroyer of fear, the Remover of pain and suffering. ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਸੇਵ ॥ सुरि नर मुनि जन ता की सेव ॥ Sur nar mun jan ṯā kī sev. The angelic beings and silent sages serve Him. ਧਰਣਿ ਅਕਾਸੁ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਕਲਾ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ धरणि अकासु जा की कला माहि ॥ Ḏẖaraṇ akās jā kī kalā māhi. The earth and the sky are in His Power. ਤੇਰਾ ਦੀਆ ਸਭਿ ਜੰਤ ਖਾਹਿ ॥੩॥ तेरा दीआ सभि जंत खाहि ॥३॥ Ŧerā ḏī▫ā sabẖ janṯ kẖāhi. ||3|| All beings eat what You give them. ||3|| ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ अंतरजामी प्रभ दइआल ॥ Anṯarjāmī parabẖ ḏa▫i▫āl. O Merciful God, O Searcher of hearts, ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥ अपणे दास कउ नदरि निहालि ॥ Apṇe ḏās ka▫o naḏar nihāl. please bless Your slave with Your Glance of Grace. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਦੇਹੁ ਦਾਨੁ ॥ करि किरपा मोहि देहु दानु ॥ Kar kirpā mohi ḏeh ḏān. Please be kind and bless me with this gift, ਜਪਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੪॥੧੦॥ जपि जीवै नानकु तेरो नामु ॥४॥१०॥ Jap jīvai Nānak ṯero nām. ||4||10|| that Nanak may live in Your Name. ||4||10||
