ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ क्रिपा करे सतिगुरू मिलाए ॥ Kirpā kare saṯgurū milā▫e. Granting His Grace, the Lord leads the mortal to meet the True Guru. ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ बसंतु महला ३ ॥ Basanṯ mėhlā 3. Basant, Third Mehl: ਨਿਹਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਮਨ ਧੀਰ ॥ निहचल मति सदा मन धीर ॥ Nihcẖal maṯ saḏā man ḏẖīr. His intellect becomes steady and stable, and his mind is strengthened forever. ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਏ ॥ आपे आपि वसै मनि आए ॥ Āpe āp vasai man ā▫e. The Lord Himself comes to abide in his mind. ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥੧॥ हरि गुण गावै गुणी गहीर ॥१॥ Har guṇ gāvai guṇī gahīr. ||1|| He sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord, the Ocean of Virtue. ||1|| ਨਾਮਹੁ ਭੂਲੇ ਮਰਹਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਇ ॥ नामहु भूले मरहि बिखु खाइ ॥ Nāmhu bẖūle marėh bikẖ kẖā▫e. Those who forget the Naam, the Name of the Lord - those mortals die eating poison. ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ ब्रिथा जनमु फिरि आवहि जाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Baritha janam fir āvahi jā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o. Their lives are wasted uselessly, and they continue coming and going in reincarnation. ||1||Pause|| ਬਹੁ ਭੇਖ ਕਰਹਿ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ बहु भेख करहि मनि सांति न होइ ॥ Baho bẖekẖ karahi man sāʼnṯ na ho▫e. They wear all sorts of religious robes, but their minds are not at peace. ਬਹੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਿ ਅਪਣੀ ਪਤਿ ਖੋਇ ॥ बहु अभिमानि अपणी पति खोइ ॥ Baho abẖimān apṇī paṯ kẖo▫e. In great egotism, they lose their honor. ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ॥ से वडभागी जिन सबदु पछाणिआ ॥ Se vadbẖāgī jin sabaḏ pacẖẖāṇi▫ā. But those who realize the Word of the Shabad, are blessed by great good fortune. ਬਾਹਰਿ ਜਾਦਾ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਆਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ बाहरि जादा घर महि आणिआ ॥२॥ Bāhar jāḏā gẖar mėh āṇi▫ā. ||2|| They bring their distractible minds back home. ||2|| ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਖੋਜਹਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ गुरमति खोजहि सबदि बीचारा ॥ Gurmaṯ kẖojėh sabaḏ bīcẖārā. Those who find it, by following the Guru's Teachings, contemplate the Shabad. ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ घर महि वसतु अगम अपारा ॥ Gẖar mėh vasaṯ agam apārā. Within the home of the inner self is the inaccessible and infinite substance. ਨਾਮੁ ਨਵ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ਘਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ नामु नव निधि पाई घर ही माहि ॥ Nām nav niḏẖ pā▫ī gẖar hī māhi. Those who obtain the nine treasures of the Naam within the home of their own inner being, ਸਦਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੩॥ सदा रंगि राते सचि समाहि ॥३॥ Saḏā rang rāṯe sacẖ samāhi. ||3|| are forever dyed in the color of the Lord's Love; they are absorbed in the Truth. ||3|| ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥ आपि करे किछु करणु न जाइ ॥ Āp kare kicẖẖ karaṇ na jā▫e. God Himself does everything; no one can do anything at all by himself. ਆਪੇ ਭਾਵੈ ਲਏ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥ आपे भावै लए मिलाइ ॥ Āpe bẖāvai la▫e milā▫e. When God so wills, He merges the mortal into Himself. ਤਿਸ ਤੇ ਨੇੜੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ तिस ते नेड़ै नाही को दूरि ॥ Ŧis ṯe neṛai nāhī ko ḏūr. All are near Him; no one is far away from Him. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੪॥੧੧॥ नानक नामि रहिआ भरपूरि ॥४॥११॥ Nānak nām rahi▫ā bẖarpūr. ||4||11|| O Nanak, the Naam is permeating and pervading everywhere. ||4||11|| ਕੋਟ ਕੋਟੰਤਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ कोट कोटंतर के पाप जलि जाहि ॥ Kot kotanṯar ke pāp jal jāhi. The sins of millions upon millions of lifetimes shall be burnt away. ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਅਘਾਇ ॥ राम नाम रसि रहै अघाइ ॥ Rām nām ras rahai agẖā▫e. and you shall remain satisfied by the sublime essence of the Lord's Name.
