ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤਿ ਸੁਭਾਇ ॥ गुर सबदी हरि चेति सुभाइ ॥ Gur sabḏī har cẖeṯ subẖā▫e. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, remember the Lord with love, ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਰਸਿ ਰਹੈ ਅਘਾਇ ॥ राम नाम रसि रहै अघाइ ॥ Rām nām ras rahai agẖā▫e. and you shall remain satisfied by the sublime essence of the Lord's Name. ਕੋਟ ਕੋਟੰਤਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਪ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥ कोट कोटंतर के पाप जलि जाहि ॥ Kot kotanṯar ke pāp jal jāhi. The sins of millions upon millions of lifetimes shall be burnt away. ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ बसंतु महला ३ ॥ Basanṯ mėhlā 3. Basant, Third Mehl: ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ जीवत मरहि हरि नामि समाहि ॥१॥ Jīvaṯ marėh har nām samāhi. ||1|| Remaining dead while yet alive, you shall be absorbed in the Lord's Name. ||1|| ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਦਾਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ हरि की दाति हरि जीउ जाणै ॥ Har kī ḏāṯ har jī▫o jāṇai. The Dear Lord Himself knows His own bountiful blessings. ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਉਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣਦਾਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गुर कै सबदि इहु मनु मउलिआ हरि गुणदाता नामु वखाणै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Gur kai sabaḏ ih man ma▫oli▫ā har guṇḏāṯā nām vakẖāṇai. ||1|| rahā▫o. This mind blossoms forth in the Guru's Shabad, chanting the Name of the Lord, the Giver of virtue. ||1||Pause|| ਭਗਵੈ ਵੇਸਿ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ भगवै वेसि भ्रमि मुकति न होइ ॥ Bẖagvai ves bẖaram mukaṯ na ho▫e. No one is liberated by wandering around in saffron-colored robes. ਬਹੁ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ बहु संजमि सांति न पावै कोइ ॥ Baho sanjam sāʼnṯ na pāvai ko▫e. Tranquility is not found by strict self-discipline. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ गुरमति नामु परापति होइ ॥ Gurmaṯ nām parāpaṯ ho▫e. But by following the Guru's Teachings, one is blessed to receive the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਵੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੨॥ वडभागी हरि पावै सोइ ॥२॥ vadbẖāgī har pāvai so▫e. ||2|| By great good fortune, one finds the Lord. ||2|| ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ कलि महि राम नामि वडिआई ॥ Kal mėh rām nām vadi▫ā▫ī. In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, glorious greatness comes through the Lord's Name. ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਈ ॥ गुर पूरे ते पाइआ जाई ॥ Gur pūre ṯe pā▫i▫ā jā▫ī. Through the Perfect Guru, it is obtained. ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ नामि रते सदा सुखु पाई ॥ Nām raṯe saḏā sukẖ pā▫ī. Those who are imbued with the Naam find everlasting peace. ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਲਿ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ बिनु नामै हउमै जलि जाई ॥३॥ Bin nāmai ha▫umai jal jā▫ī. ||3|| But without the Naam, mortals burn in egotism. ||3|| ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਿਆ ਸੁ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥ हिरदै वसिआ सु बाहरि पासारा ॥ Hirḏai vasi▫ā so bāhar pāsārā. He dwells within the heart, and pervades the external universe as well. ਛੂਟੈ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਾਰਾ ॥ छूटै राम नामि दुखु सारा ॥ Cẖẖūtai rām nām ḏukẖ sārā. Through the Lord's Name, all sorrows are eradicated. ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ वडभागी हरि नामु बीचारा ॥ vadbẖāgī har nām bīcẖārā. By great good fortune, some contemplate the Lord's Name. ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਣੈ ਸਭੁ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੧੨॥ नानक जाणै सभु उपावणहारा ॥४॥१२॥ Nānak jāṇai sabẖ upāvaṇhārā. ||4||12|| O Nanak, the Creator Lord knows all. ||4||12||
