ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ बसंतु महला ३ ॥ Basanṫ mėhlaa 3. Basant, Third Mehl: ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਸਚੁ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ पूरै भागि सचु कार कमावै ॥ Pooræ bʰaag sach kaar kamaavæ. By perfect destiny, one acts in truth. ਏਕੋ ਚੇਤੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ॥ एको चेतै फिरि जोनि न आवै ॥ Éko chéṫæ fir jon na aavæ. Remembering the One Lord, one does not have to enter the cycle of reincarnation. ਸਫਲ ਜਨਮੁ ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ सफल जनमु इसु जग महि आइआ ॥ Safal janam is jag mėh aa▫i▫aa. Fruitful is the coming into the world, and the life of one ਸਾਚਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥ साचि नामि सहजि समाइआ ॥१॥ Saach naam sahj samaa▫i▫aa. ||1|| who remains intuitively absorbed in the True Name. ||1|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਹੁ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ गुरमुखि कार करहु लिव लाइ ॥ Gurmukʰ kaar karahu liv laa▫é. The Gurmukh acts, lovingly attuned to the Lord. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ हरि नामु सेवहु विचहु आपु गवाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Har naam sévhu vichahu aap gavaa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Be dedicated to the Lord’s Name, and eradicate self-conceit from within. ||1||Pause|| ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਸਾਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ तिसु जन की है साची बाणी ॥ Ṫis jan kee hæ saachee baṇee. True is the speech of that humble being; ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਗ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ॥ गुर कै सबदि जग माहि समाणी ॥ Gur kæ sabaḋ jag maahi samaaṇee. through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, it is spread throughout the world. ਚਹੁ ਜੁਗ ਪਸਰੀ ਸਾਚੀ ਸੋਇ ॥ चहु जुग पसरी साची सोइ ॥ Chahu jug pasree saachee so▫é. Throughout the four ages, his fame and glory spread. ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤਾ ਜਨੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ नामि रता जनु परगटु होइ ॥२॥ Naam raṫaa jan pargat ho▫é. ||2|| Imbued with the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Lord’s humble servant is recognized and renowned. ||2|| ਇਕਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹੇ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥ इकि साचै सबदि रहे लिव लाइ ॥ Ik saachæ sabaḋ rahé liv laa▫é. Some remain lovingly attuned to the True Word of the Shabad. ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਚੈ ਭਾਇ ॥ से जन साचे साचै भाइ ॥ Sé jan saaché saachæ bʰaa▫é. True are those humble beings who love the True Lord. ਸਾਚੁ ਧਿਆਇਨਿ ਦੇਖਿ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥ साचु धिआइनि देखि हजूरि ॥ Saach ḋʰi▫aa▫in ḋékʰ hajoor. They meditate on the True Lord, and behold Him near at hand, ever-present. ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਕੀ ਪਗ ਪੰਕਜ ਧੂਰਿ ॥੩॥ संत जना की पग पंकज धूरि ॥३॥ Sanṫ janaa kee pag pankaj ḋʰoor. ||3|| They are the dust of the lotus feet of the humble Saints. ||3|| ਏਕੋ ਕਰਤਾ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥ एको करता अवरु न कोइ ॥ Éko karṫaa avar na ko▫é. There is only One Creator Lord; there is no other at all. ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ गुर सबदी मेलावा होइ ॥ Gur sabḋee mélaavaa ho▫é. Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, comes Union with the Lord. ਜਿਨਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ जिनि सचु सेविआ तिनि रसु पाइआ ॥ Jin sach sévi▫aa ṫin ras paa▫i▫aa. Whoever serves the True Lord finds joy. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੪॥੭॥ नानक सहजे नामि समाइआ ॥४॥७॥ Naanak sėhjé naam samaa▫i▫aa. ||4||7|| O Nanak! He is intuitively absorbed in the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||4||7||
