ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ बसंतु महला ३ ॥ Basanṯ mėhlā 3. Basant, Third Mehl: ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੋ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਲੋਗੁ ॥ हरि सेवे सो हरि का लोगु ॥ Har seve so har kā log. One who serves the Lord is the Lord's person. ਸਾਚੁ ਸਹਜੁ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋਗੁ ॥ साचु सहजु कदे न होवै सोगु ॥ Sācẖ sahj kaḏe na hovai sog. He dwells in intuitive peace, and never suffers in sorrow. ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮੁਏ ਨਾਹੀ ਹਰਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ मनमुख मुए नाही हरि मन माहि ॥ Manmukẖ mu▫e nāhī har man māhi. The self-willed manmukhs are dead; the Lord is not within their minds. ਮਰਿ ਮਰਿ ਜੰਮਹਿ ਭੀ ਮਰਿ ਜਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ मरि मरि जमहि भी मरि जाहि ॥१॥ Mar mar jamėh bẖī mar jāhi. ||1|| They die and die again and again, and are reincarnated, only to die once more. ||1|| ਸੇ ਜਨ ਜੀਵੇ ਜਿਨ ਹਰਿ ਮਨ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ से जन जीवे जिन हरि मन माहि ॥ Se jan jīve jin har man māhi. They alone are alive, whose minds are filled with the Lord. ਸਾਚੁ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਹਿ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ साचु सम्हालहि साचि समाहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Sācẖ samĥālih sācẖ samāhi. ||1|| rahā▫o. They contemplate the True Lord, and are absorbed in the True Lord. ||1||Pause|| ਹਰਿ ਨ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ हरि न सेवहि ते हरि ते दूरि ॥ Har na sevėh ṯe har ṯe ḏūr. Those who do not serve the Lord are far away from the Lord. ਦਿਸੰਤਰੁ ਭਵਹਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਧੂਰਿ ॥ दिसंतरु भवहि सिरि पावहि धूरि ॥ Disanṯar bẖavėh sir pāvahi ḏẖūr. They wander in foreign lands, with dust thrown on their heads. ਹਰਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਨ ਲੀਏ ਲਾਇ ॥ हरि आपे जन लीए लाइ ॥ Har āpe jan lī▫e lā▫e. The Lord Himself enjoins His humble servants to serve Him. ਤਿਨ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੈ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਇ ॥੨॥ तिन सदा सुखु है तिलु न तमाइ ॥२॥ Ŧin saḏā sukẖ hai ṯil na ṯamā▫e. ||2|| They live in peace forever, and have no greed at all. ||2|| ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ नदरि करे चूकै अभिमानु ॥ Naḏar kare cẖūkai abẖimān. When the Lord bestows His Glance of Grace, egotism is eradicated. ਸਾਚੀ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਾਵੈ ਮਾਨੁ ॥ साची दरगह पावै मानु ॥ Sācẖī ḏargėh pāvai mān. Then, the mortal is honored in the Court of the True Lord. ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦ ਹਜੂਰਿ ॥ हरि जीउ वेखै सद हजूरि ॥ Har jī▫o vekẖai saḏ hajūr. He sees the Dear Lord always close at hand, ever-present. ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੩॥ गुर कै सबदि रहिआ भरपूरि ॥३॥ Gur kai sabaḏ rahi▫ā bẖarpūr. ||3|| Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, he sees the Lord pervading and permeating all. ||3|| ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਕੀ ਕਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ॥ जीअ जंत की करे प्रतिपाल ॥ Jī▫a janṯ kī kare parṯipāl. The Lord cherishes all beings and creatures. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਦ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲ ॥ गुर परसादी सद सम्हाल ॥ Gur parsādī saḏ samĥāl. By Guru's Grace, contemplate Him forever. ਦਰਿ ਸਾਚੈ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਘਰਿ ਜਾਇ ॥ दरि साचै पति सिउ घरि जाइ ॥ Ḏar sācẖai paṯ si▫o gẖar jā▫e. You shall go to your true home in the Lord's Court with honor. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ਪਾਇ ॥੪॥੩॥ नानक नामि वडाई पाइ ॥४॥३॥ Nānak nām vadā▫ī pā▫e. ||4||3|| O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, you shall be blessed with glorious greatness. ||4||3||
