ਰਾਤੇ ਸਾਚਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥ राते साचि हरि नामि निहाला ॥ Rāṯe sācẖ har nām nihālā. Those who are attuned to the True Lord's Name are happy and exalted. ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ बसंतु महला ३ ॥ Basanṯ mėhlā 3. Basant, Third Mehl: ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨਹੀ ਮੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ तिसु बिनु अवरु नही मै कोइ ॥ Ŧis bin avar nahī mai ko▫e. Without Him, I have no other at all. ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ दइआ करहु प्रभ दीन दइआला ॥ Ḏa▫i▫ā karahu parabẖ ḏīn ḏa▫i▫ālā. Take pity on me, O God, Merciful to the meek. ਜਿਉ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਿਉ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ जिउ भावै तिउ राखै सोइ ॥१॥ Ji▫o bẖāvai ṯi▫o rākẖai so▫e. ||1|| As it pleases His Will, He keeps me. ||1|| ਗੁਰ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਏ ॥ गुर गोपाल मेरै मनि भाए ॥ Gur gopāl merai man bẖā▫e. The Guru, the Lord, is pleasing to my mind. ਰਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਉ ਦਰਸਨ ਦੇਖੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲਉ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ रहि न सकउ दरसन देखे बिनु सहजि मिलउ गुरु मेलि मिलाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Rėh na saka▫o ḏarsan ḏekẖe bin sahj mila▫o gur mel milā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o. I cannot even survive, without the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. But I shall easily unite with the Guru, if He unites me in His Union. ||1||Pause|| ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਲੋਭੀ ਲੋਭਿ ਲੁਭਾਨਾ ॥ इहु मनु लोभी लोभि लुभाना ॥ Ih man lobẖī lobẖ lubẖānā. The greedy mind is enticed by greed. ਰਾਮ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਨਾ ॥ राम बिसारि बहुरि पछुताना ॥ Rām bisār bahur pacẖẖuṯānā. Forgetting the Lord, it regrets and repents in the end. ਬਿਛੁਰਤ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵ ਰਾਂਗੇ ॥ बिछुरत मिलाइ गुर सेव रांगे ॥ Bicẖẖuraṯ milā▫e gur sev rāʼnge. The separated ones are reunited, when they are inspired to serve the Guru. ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੀਓ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੇ ॥੨॥ हरि नामु दीओ मसतकि वडभागे ॥२॥ Har nām ḏī▫o masṯak vadbẖāge. ||2|| They are blessed with the Lord's Name - such is the destiny written on their foreheads. ||2|| ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਕੀ ਇਹ ਦੇਹ ਸਰੀਰਾ ॥ पउण पाणी की इह देह सरीरा ॥ Pa▫uṇ pāṇī kī ih ḏeh sarīrā. This body is built of air and water. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮ ਦਾਰੂ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ गुरमुखि राम नाम दारू गुण गाइआ ॥ Gurmukẖ rām nām ḏārū guṇ gā▫i▫ā. The Gurmukh has the Medicine: singing the Glorious Praises of the Lord's Name. ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰਿ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ करि किरपा गुरि रोगु गवाइआ ॥३॥ Kar kirpā gur rog gavā▫i▫ā. ||3|| Granting His Grace, the Guru has cured the illness. ||3|| ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਕਠਿਨ ਤਨਿ ਪੀਰਾ ॥ हउमै रोगु कठिन तनि पीरा ॥ Ha▫umai rog kaṯẖin ṯan pīrā. The body is afflicted with the terribly painful illness of egotism. ਚਾਰਿ ਨਦੀਆ ਅਗਨੀ ਤਨਿ ਚਾਰੇ ॥ चारि नदीआ अगनी तनि चारे ॥ Cẖār naḏī▫ā agnī ṯan cẖāre. The four evils are the four rivers of fire flowing through the body. ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਜਲਤ ਜਲੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੇ ॥ त्रिसना जलत जले अहंकारे ॥ Ŧarisnā jalaṯ jale ahaʼnkāre. It is burning in desire, and burning in egotism. ਗੁਰਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਤਾਰੇ ॥ गुरि राखे वडभागी तारे ॥ Gur rākẖe vadbẖāgī ṯāre. Those whom the Guru protects and saves are very fortunate. ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਉਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਧਾਰੇ ॥੪॥੨॥ जन नानक उरि हरि अम्रितु धारे ॥४॥२॥ Jan Nānak ur har amriṯ ḏẖāre. ||4||2|| Servant Nanak enshrines the Ambrosial Name of the Lord in his heart. ||4||2||
