ਐਥੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸੁ ਆਗੈ ਸਾਚੇ ॥ ऐथै साचे सु आगै साचे ॥ Aithai sācẖe so āgai sācẖe. Those who are True here, are True hereafter as well. ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ माझ महला ३ ॥ Mājẖ mėhlā 3. Maajh, Third Mehl: ਸਚਾ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ सचा सेवहि सचु कमावहि सचो सचु कमावणिआ ॥१॥ Sacẖā sevėh sacẖ kamāvėh sacẖo sacẖ kamāvaṇi▫ā. ||1|| They serve the True One, and practice Truth; they earn Truth, and only Truth. ||1|| ਮਨੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਾਚੇ ॥ मनु सचा सचै सबदि राचे ॥ Man sacẖā sacẖai sabaḏ rācẖe. That mind is true, which is attuned to the True Shabad. ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥ हउ वारी जीउ वारी सचा नामु मंनि वसावणिआ ॥ Ha▫o vārī jī▫o vārī sacẖā nām man vasāvaṇi▫ā. I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those whose minds are filled with the True Name. ਸਚੇ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੇ ਕੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ सचे सेवहि सचि समावहि सचे के गुण गावणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Sacẖe sevėh sacẖ samāvėh sacẖe ke guṇ gāvaṇi▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o. They serve the True One, and are absorbed into the True One, singing the Glorious Praises of the True One. ||1||Pause|| ਪੰਡਿਤ ਪੜਹਿ ਸਾਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਵਹਿ ॥ पंडित पड़हि सादु न पावहि ॥ Pandiṯ paṛėh sāḏ na pāvahi. The Pandits, the religious scholars read, but they do not taste the essence. ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਮਾਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਭਰਮਾਵਹਿ ॥ दूजै भाइ माइआ मनु भरमावहि ॥ Ḏūjai bẖā▫e mā▫i▫ā man bẖarmāvėh. In love with duality and Maya, their minds wander, unfocused. ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸਭ ਸੁਧਿ ਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਿ ਅਵਗਣ ਪਛੋਤਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ माइआ मोहि सभ सुधि गवाई करि अवगण पछोतावणिआ ॥२॥ Mā▫i▫ā mohi sabẖ suḏẖ gavā▫ī kar avgaṇ pacẖẖoṯāvaṇi▫ā. ||2|| The love of Maya has displaced all their understanding; making mistakes, they live in regret. ||2|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤਾ ਤਤੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ सतिगुरु मिलै ता ततु पाए ॥ Saṯgur milai ṯā ṯaṯ pā▫e. But if they should meet the True Guru, then they obtain the essence of reality; ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥ हरि का नामु मंनि वसाए ॥ Har kā nām man vasā▫e. the Name of the Lord comes to dwell in their minds. ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੈ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਕਾ ਦਰੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥ सबदि मरै मनु मारै अपुना मुकती का दरु पावणिआ ॥३॥ Sabaḏ marai man mārai apunā mukṯī kā ḏar pāvṇi▫ā. ||3|| Those who die in the Shabad and subdue their own minds, obtain the door of liberation. ||3|| ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟੈ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ ॥ किलविख काटै क्रोधु निवारे ॥ Kilvikẖ kātai kroḏẖ nivāre. They erase their sins, and eliminate their anger; ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਖੈ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ ॥ गुर का सबदु रखै उर धारे ॥ Gur kā sabaḏ rakẖai ur ḏẖāre. they keep the Guru's Shabad clasped tightly to their hearts. ਅੰਤਰਿ ਰਤਨੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥ अंतरि रतनु मिलै मिलाइआ ॥ Anṯar raṯan milai milā▫i▫ā. Deep within the nucleus of the self is the jewel; we receive it only if the Lord inspires us to receive it. ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥ सचि रते सदा बैरागी हउमै मारि मिलावणिआ ॥४॥ Sacẖ raṯe saḏā bairāgī ha▫umai mār milāvaṇi▫ā. ||4|| Those who are attuned to Truth, remain balanced and detached forever. Subduing their egotism, they are united with the Lord. ||4|| ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਮਨਸਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ॥ त्रिबिधि मनसा त्रिबिधि माइआ ॥ Ŧaribaḏẖ mansā ṯaribaḏẖ mā▫i▫ā. The mind is bound by the three dispositions-the three modes of Maya. ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਨੀ ਥਕੇ ਚਉਥੇ ਪਦ ਕੀ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥ पड़ि पड़ि पंडित मोनी थके चउथे पद की सार न पावणिआ ॥५॥ Paṛ paṛ pandiṯ monī thake cẖa▫uthe paḏ kī sār na pāvṇi▫ā. ||5|| Reading and reciting, the Pandits, the religious scholars, and the silent sages have grown weary, but they have not found the supreme essence of the fourth state. ||5|| ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗੇ ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਾਏ ॥ आपे रंगे रंगु चड़ाए ॥ Āpe range rang cẖaṛā▫e. The Lord Himself dyes us in the color of His Love. ਸੇ ਜਨ ਰਾਤੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਰੰਗਾਏ ॥ से जन राते गुर सबदि रंगाए ॥ Se jan rāṯe gur sabaḏ rangā▫e. Only those who are steeped in the Word of the Guru's Shabad are so imbued with His Love. ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਿਆ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਿ ਰਸਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥ हरि रंगु चड़िआ अति अपारा हरि रसि रसि गुण गावणिआ ॥६॥ Har rang cẖaṛi▫ā aṯ apārā har ras ras guṇ gāvaṇi▫ā. ||6|| Imbued with the most beautiful color of the Lord's Love, they sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, with great pleasure and joy. ||6|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਰਿਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸਚੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ गुरमुखि रिधि सिधि सचु संजमु सोई ॥ Gurmukẖ riḏẖ siḏẖ sacẖ sanjam so▫ī. To the Gurmukh, the True Lord is wealth, miraculous spiritual powers and strict self-discipline. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਨਾਮਿ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥ गुरमुखि गिआनु नामि मुकति होई ॥ Gurmukẖ gi▫ān nām mukaṯ ho▫ī. Through the spiritual wisdom of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the Gurmukh is liberated. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕਾਰ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ गुरमुखि कार सचु कमावहि सचे सचि समावणिआ ॥७॥ Gurmukẖ kār sacẖ kamāvėh sacẖe sacẖ samāvaṇi▫ā. ||7|| The Gurmukh practices Truth, and is absorbed in the Truest of the True. ||7|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਥਾਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ॥ गुरमुखि थापे थापि उथापे ॥ Gurmukẖ thāpe thāp uthāpe. The Gurmukh realizes that the Lord alone creates, and having created, He destroys. ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਨਾਮੇ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੧੨॥੧੩॥ नानक गुरमुखि नामु धिआए नामे नामि समावणिआ ॥८॥१२॥१३॥ Nānak gurmukẖ nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e nāme nām samāvaṇi▫ā. ||8||12||13|| O Nanak, the Gurmukhs meditate on the Naam; through the Naam, they merge in the Naam. ||8||12||13|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ॥ गुरमुखि जाति पति सभु आपे ॥ Gurmukẖ jāṯ paṯ sabẖ āpe. To the Gurmukh, the Lord Himself is social class, status and all honor.
