ਘਰ ਕੀ ਨਾਰਿ ਤਿਆਗੈ ਅੰਧਾ ॥ घर की नारि तिआगै अंधा ॥ Gẖar kī nār ṯi▫āgai anḏẖā. The blind fool abandons the wife of his own home, ਪਰ ਨਾਰੀ ਸਿਉ ਘਾਲੈ ਧੰਧਾ ॥ पर नारी सिउ घालै धंधा ॥ Par nārī si▫o gẖālai ḏẖanḏẖā. and has an affair with another woman. ਜੈਸੇ ਸਿੰਬਲੁ ਦੇਖਿ ਸੂਆ ਬਿਗਸਾਨਾ ॥ जैसे सि्मबलु देखि सूआ बिगसाना ॥ Jaise simbal ḏekẖ sū▫ā bigsānā. He is like the parrot, who is pleased to see the simbal tree; ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਮੂਆ ਲਪਟਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ अंत की बार मूआ लपटाना ॥१॥ Anṯ kī bār mū▫ā laptānā. ||1|| but in the end, he dies, stuck to it. ||1|| ਪਾਪੀ ਕਾ ਘਰੁ ਅਗਨੇ ਮਾਹਿ ॥ पापी का घरु अगने माहि ॥ Pāpī kā gẖar agne māhi. The home of the sinner is on fire. ਜਲਤ ਰਹੈ ਮਿਟਵੈ ਕਬ ਨਾਹਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जलत रहै मिटवै कब नाहि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jalaṯ rahai mitvai kab nāhi. ||1|| rahā▫o. It keeps burning, and the fire cannot be extinguished. ||1||Pause|| ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਨ ਦੇਖੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ हरि की भगति न देखै जाइ ॥ Har kī bẖagaṯ na ḏekẖai jā▫e. He does not go to see where the Lord is being worshipped. ਮਾਰਗੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਅਮਾਰਗਿ ਪਾਇ ॥ मारगु छोडि अमारगि पाइ ॥ Mārag cẖẖod amārag pā▫e. He abandons the Lord's Path, and takes the wrong path. ਮੂਲਹੁ ਭੂਲਾ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਇ ॥ मूलहु भूला आवै जाइ ॥ Mūlhu bẖūlā āvai jā▫e. He forgets the Primal Lord God, and is caught in the cycle of reincarnation. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਡਾਰਿ ਲਾਦਿ ਬਿਖੁ ਖਾਇ ॥੨॥ अम्रितु डारि लादि बिखु खाइ ॥२॥ Amriṯ dār lāḏ bikẖ kẖā▫e. ||2|| He throws away the Ambrosial Nectar, and gathers poison to eat. ||2|| ਜਿਉ ਬੇਸ੍ਵਾ ਕੇ ਪਰੈ ਅਖਾਰਾ ॥ जिउ बेस्वा के परै अखारा ॥ Ji▫o baisvā ke parai akẖārā. He is like the prostitute, who comes to dance, ਕਾਪਰੁ ਪਹਿਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੀਗਾਰਾ ॥ कापरु पहिरि करहि सींगारा ॥ Kāpar pahir karahi sīʼngārā. wearing beautiful clothes, decorated and adorned. ਪੂਰੇ ਤਾਲ ਨਿਹਾਲੇ ਸਾਸ ॥ पूरे ताल निहाले सास ॥ Pūre ṯāl nihāle sās. She dances to the beat, exciting the breath of those who watch her. ਵਾ ਕੇ ਗਲੇ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਹੈ ਫਾਸ ॥੩॥ वा के गले जम का है फास ॥३॥ vā ke gale jam kā hai fās. ||3|| But the noose of the Messenger of Death is around her neck. ||3|| ਜਾ ਕੇ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਓ ਕਰਮਾ ॥ जा के मसतकि लिखिओ करमा ॥ Jā ke masṯak likẖi▫o karmā. One who has good karma recorded on his forehead, ਸੋ ਭਜਿ ਪਰਿ ਹੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਨਾ ॥ सो भजि परि है गुर की सरना ॥ So bẖaj par hai gur kī sarnā. hurries to enter the Guru's Sanctuary. ਕਹਤ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਇਹੁ ਬੀਚਾਰੁ ॥ कहत नामदेउ इहु बीचारु ॥ Kahaṯ nāmḏe▫o ih bīcẖār. Says Naam Dayv, consider this: ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਸੰਤਹੁ ਉਤਰਹੁ ਪਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥੮॥ इन बिधि संतहु उतरहु पारि ॥४॥२॥८॥ In biḏẖ sanṯahu uṯarahu pār. ||4||2||8|| O Saints, this is the way to cross over to the other side. ||4||2||8||
