ਨਾਂਗੇ ਆਵਨੁ ਨਾਂਗੇ ਜਾਨਾ ॥ नांगे आवनु नांगे जाना ॥ Nāʼnge āvan nāʼnge jānā. Naked we come, and naked we go. ਕੋਇ ਨ ਰਹਿਹੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਰਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ कोइ न रहिहै राजा राना ॥१॥ Ko▫e na rahihai rājā rānā. ||1|| No one, not even the kings and queens, shall remain. ||1|| ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਜਾ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਮੇਰੈ ॥ रामु राजा नउ निधि मेरै ॥ Rām rājā na▫o niḏẖ merai. The Sovereign Lord is the nine treasures for me. ਸੰਪੈ ਹੇਤੁ ਕਲਤੁ ਧਨੁ ਤੇਰੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ स्मपै हेतु कलतु धनु तेरै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Sampai heṯ kalaṯ ḏẖan ṯerai. ||1|| rahā▫o. The possessions and the spouse to which the mortal is lovingly attached, are Your wealth, O Lord. ||1||Pause|| ਆਵਤ ਸੰਗ ਨ ਜਾਤ ਸੰਗਾਤੀ ॥ आवत संग न जात संगाती ॥ Āvaṯ sang na jāṯ sangāṯī. They do not come with the mortal, and they do not go with him. ਕਹਾ ਭਇਓ ਦਰਿ ਬਾਂਧੇ ਹਾਥੀ ॥੨॥ कहा भइओ दरि बांधे हाथी ॥२॥ Kahā bẖa▫i▫o ḏar bāʼnḏẖe hāthī. ||2|| What good does it do him, if he has elephants tied up at his doorway? ||2|| ਲੰਕਾ ਗਢੁ ਸੋਨੇ ਕਾ ਭਇਆ ॥ लंका गढु सोने का भइआ ॥ Lankā gadẖ sone kā bẖa▫i▫ā. The fortress of Sri Lanka was made out of gold, ਮੂਰਖੁ ਰਾਵਨੁ ਕਿਆ ਲੇ ਗਇਆ ॥੩॥ मूरखु रावनु किआ ले गइआ ॥३॥ Mūrakẖ rāvan ki▫ā le ga▫i▫ā. ||3|| but what could the foolish Raawan take with him when he left? ||3|| ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਕਿਛੁ ਗੁਨੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ कहि कबीर किछु गुनु बीचारि ॥ Kahi Kabīr kicẖẖ gun bīcẖār. Says Kabeer, think of doing some good deeds. ਚਲੇ ਜੁਆਰੀ ਦੁਇ ਹਥ ਝਾਰਿ ॥੪॥੨॥ चले जुआरी दुइ हथ झारि ॥४॥२॥ Cẖale ju▫ārī ḏu▫e hath jẖār. ||4||2|| In the end, the gambler shall depart empty-handed. ||4||2||
