ਅਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਕਉ ਕੰਠਿ ਲਗਾਵੈ ॥ अपणे दास कउ कंठि लगावै ॥ Apṇé ḋaas ka▫o kantʰ lagaavæ. God hugs His slave close in His Embrace. ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ भैरउ महला ५ ॥ Bʰæro mėhlaa 5. Bhairao, Fifth Mehl: ਪਾਪੀ ਤੇ ਰਾਖੇ ਨਾਰਾਇਣ ॥ पापी ते राखे नाराइण ॥ Paapee ṫé raakʰé naaraa▫iṇ. The Lord saves His servants from the sinners. ਪਾਪੀ ਕੀ ਗਤਿ ਕਤਹੂ ਨਾਹੀ ਪਾਪੀ ਪਚਿਆ ਆਪ ਕਮਾਇਣ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ पापी की गति कतहू नाही पापी पचिआ आप कमाइण ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Paapee kee gaṫ kaṫhoo naahee paapee pachi▫aa aap kamaa▫iṇ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. No one can save the sinner. The sinner is destroyed by his own actions. ||1||Pause|| ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕਉ ਅਗਨਿ ਮਹਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ निंदक कउ अगनि महि पावै ॥१॥ Ninḋak ka▫o agan mėh paavæ. ||1|| He throws the slanderer into the fire. ||1|| ਦਾਸ ਰਾਮ ਜੀਉ ਲਾਗੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ दास राम जीउ लागी प्रीति ॥ Ḋaas raam jee▫o laagee pareeṫ. The Lord’s slave is in love with the Dear Lord. ਨਿੰਦਕ ਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਬਿਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੨॥ निंदक की होई बिपरीति ॥२॥ Ninḋak kee ho▫ee bipreeṫ. ||2|| The slanderer loves something else. ||2|| ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮਿ ਅਪਣਾ ਬਿਰਦੁ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਇਆ ॥ पारब्रहमि अपणा बिरदु प्रगटाइआ ॥ Paarbarahm apṇaa biraḋ paragtaa▫i▫aa. The Supreme Lord God has revealed His Innate Nature. ਦੋਖੀ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥ दोखी अपणा कीता पाइआ ॥३॥ Ḋokʰee apṇaa keeṫaa paa▫i▫aa. ||3|| The evil-doer obtains the fruits of his own actions. ||3|| ਆਇ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ आइ न जाई रहिआ समाई ॥ Aa▫é na jaa▫ee rahi▫aa samaa▫ee. God does not come or go; He is All-pervading and permeating. ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੪॥੧੩॥ नानक दास हरि की सरणाई ॥४॥१३॥ Naanak ḋaas har kee sarṇaa▫ee. ||4||13|| Slave Nanak seeks the Sanctuary of the Lord. ||4||13||
