ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਹੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਸਨਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ ॥ गुर कै संगि रहै दिनु राती रामु रसनि रंगि राता ॥ Gur kæ sang rahæ ḋin raaṫee raam rasan rang raaṫaa. He remains with the Guru, day and night, and his tongue savors the savory taste of the Lord’s Love. ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ भैरउ महला १ ॥ Bʰæro mėhlaa 1. Bhairao, First Mehl: ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਸਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਪਛਾਣਸਿ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਣਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥੧॥ अवरु न जाणसि सबदु पछाणसि अंतरि जाणि पछाता ॥१॥ Avar na jaaṇas sabaḋ pachʰaaṇas anṫar jaaṇ pachʰaaṫaa. ||1|| He does not know any other; he realizes the Word of the Shabad. He knows and realizes the Lord deep within his own being. ||1|| ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਐਸਾ ਮੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ सो जनु ऐसा मै मनि भावै ॥ So jan æsaa mæ man bʰaavæ. Such a humble person is pleasing to my mind. ਆਪੁ ਮਾਰਿ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਿ ਰਾਤਾ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ आपु मारि अपर्मपरि राता गुर की कार कमावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Aap maar aprampar raaṫaa gur kee kaar kamaavæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. He conquers his self-conceit, and is imbued with the Infinite Lord. He serves the Guru. ||1||Pause|| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਆਦੇਸੋ ॥ अंतरि बाहरि पुरखु निरंजनु आदि पुरखु आदेसो ॥ Anṫar baahar purakʰ niranjan aaḋ purakʰ aaḋéso. Deep within my being, and outside as well, is the Immaculate Lord God. I bow humbly before that Primal Lord God. ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰੰਤਰਿ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਚੁ ਵੇਸੋ ॥੨॥ घट घट अंतरि सरब निरंतरि रवि रहिआ सचु वेसो ॥२॥ Gʰat gʰat anṫar sarab niranṫar rav rahi▫aa sach véso. ||2|| Deep within each and every heart, and amidst all, the Embodiment of Truth is permeating and pervading. ||2|| ਸਾਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਚੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਜਿਹਵਾ ਮਿਥਿਆ ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਰਾਈ ॥ साचि रते सचु अमृतु जिहवा मिथिआ मैलु न राई ॥ Saach raṫé sach amriṫ jihvaa miṫʰi▫aa mæl na raa▫ee. Those who are imbued with Truth - their tongues are tinged with Truth; they do not have even an iota of the filth of falsehood. ਨਿਰਮਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿਆ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥ निरमल नामु अमृत रसु चाखिआ सबदि रते पति पाई ॥३॥ Nirmal naam amriṫ ras chaakʰi▫aa sabaḋ raṫé paṫ paa▫ee. ||3|| They taste the sweet Ambrosial Nectar of the Immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord; imbued with the Shabad, they are blessed with honor. ||3|| ਗੁਣੀ ਗੁਣੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਲਾਹਾ ਪਾਵਸਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਡਾਈ ॥ गुणी गुणी मिलि लाहा पावसि गुरमुखि नामि वडाई ॥ Guṇee guṇee mil laahaa paavas gurmukʰ naam vadaa▫ee. The virtuous meet with the virtuous, and earn the profit; as Gurmukh, they obtain the glorious greatness of the Naam.
