ਅੰਦਰਿ ਹੀਰਾ ਲਾਲੁ ਬਣਾਇਆ ॥ अंदरि हीरा लालु बणाइआ ॥ Anḋar heeraa laal baṇaa▫i▫aa. Diamonds and rubies are produced deep within the self. ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ माझ महला ३ ॥ Maajʰ mėhlaa 3. Maajh, Third Mehl: ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਰਖਿ ਪਰਖਾਇਆ ॥ गुर कै सबदि परखि परखाइआ ॥ Gur kæ sabaḋ parakʰ parkʰaa▫i▫aa. They are assayed and valued through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ਜਿਨ ਸਚੁ ਪਲੈ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਕਸਵਟੀ ਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ जिन सचु पलै सचु वखाणहि सचु कसवटी लावणिआ ॥१॥ Jin sach palæ sach vakaaṇėh sach kasvatee laavaṇi▫aa. ||1|| Those who have gathered Truth, speak Truth; they apply the Touch-stone of Truth. ||1|| ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥ हउ वारी जीउ वारी गुर की बाणी मंनि वसावणिआ ॥ Ha▫o vaaree jee▫o vaaree gur kee baṇee man vasaavaṇi▫aa. I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who enshrine the Word of the Guru’s Bani within their minds. ਅੰਜਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ अंजन माहि निरंजनु पाइआ जोती जोति मिलावणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Anjan maahi niranjan paa▫i▫aa joṫee joṫ milaavaṇi▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. In the midst of the darkness of the world, they obtain the Immaculate One, and their light merges into the Light. ||1||Pause|| ਇਸੁ ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥ इसु काइआ अंदरि बहुतु पसारा ॥ Is kaa▫i▫aa anḋar bahuṫ pasaaraa. Within this body are countless vast vistas; ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ नामु निरंजनु अति अगम अपारा ॥ Naam niranjan aṫ agam apaaraa. the Immaculate Naam is totally Inaccessible and Infinite. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋਈ ਪਾਏ ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ गुरमुखि होवै सोई पाए आपे बखसि मिलावणिआ ॥२॥ Gurmukʰ hovæ so▫ee paa▫é aapé bakʰas milaavaṇi▫aa. ||2|| He alone becomes Gurmukh and obtains it, whom the Lord forgives, and unites with Himself. ||2|| ਮੇਰਾ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥ मेरा ठाकुरु सचु द्रिड़ाए ॥ Méraa tʰaakur sach driṛ▫aa▫é. My Lord and Master implants the Truth. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਚਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ गुर परसादी सचि चितु लाए ॥ Gur parsaadee sach chiṫ laa▫é. By Guru’s Grace, one’s consciousness is attached to the Truth. ਸਚੋ ਸਚੁ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭਨੀ ਥਾਈ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥ सचो सचु वरतै सभनी थाई सचे सचि समावणिआ ॥३॥ Sacho sach varṫæ sabʰnee ṫʰaa▫ee saché sach samaavaṇi▫aa. ||3|| The Truest of the True is pervading everywhere; the true ones merge in Truth. ||3|| ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹੁ ਸਚੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਆਰਾ ॥ वेपरवाहु सचु मेरा पिआरा ॥ véparvaahu sach méraa pi▫aaraa. The True Carefree Lord is my Beloved. ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਅਵਗਣ ਕਾਟਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ किलविख अवगण काटणहारा ॥ Kilvikʰ avgaṇ kaataṇhaaraa. He cuts out our sinful mistakes and evil actions; ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਦਾ ਧਿਆਈਐ ਭੈ ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥ प्रेम प्रीति सदा धिआईऐ भै भाइ भगति द्रिड़ावणिआ ॥४॥ Parém pareeṫ saḋaa ḋʰi▫aa▫ee▫æ bʰæ bʰaa▫é bʰagaṫ ḋariṛaavṇi▫aa. ||4|| with love and affection, meditate forever on Him. He implants the Fear of God and loving devotional worship within us. ||4|| ਤੇਰੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਚੀ ਜੇ ਸਚੇ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ तेरी भगति सची जे सचे भावै ॥ Ṫéree bʰagaṫ sachee jé saché bʰaavæ. Devotional worship is True, if it pleases the True Lord. ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਨ ਪਛੋਤਾਵੈ ॥ आपे देइ न पछोतावै ॥ Aapé ḋé▫é na pachʰoṫaavæ. He Himself bestows it; He does not regret it later. ਸਭਨਾ ਜੀਆ ਕਾ ਏਕੋ ਦਾਤਾ ਸਬਦੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥ सभना जीआ का एको दाता सबदे मारि जीवावणिआ ॥५॥ Sabʰnaa jee▫aa kaa éko ḋaaṫaa sabḋé maar jeevaavṇi▫aa. ||5|| He alone is the Giver of all beings. The Lord kills with the Word of His Shabad, and then revives. ||5|| ਹਰਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਮੈ ਕੋਈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ हरि तुधु बाझहु मै कोई नाही ॥ Har ṫuḋʰ baajʰahu mæ ko▫ee naahee. Other than You, Lord, nothing is mine. ਹਰਿ ਤੁਧੈ ਸੇਵੀ ਤੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥ हरि तुधै सेवी तै तुधु सालाही ॥ Har ṫuḋʰæ sévee ṫæ ṫuḋʰ saalaahee. I serve You, Lord, and I praise You. ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲੈਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਾਚੇ ਪੂਰੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਤੂੰ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥ आपे मेलि लैहु प्रभ साचे पूरै करमि तूं पावणिआ ॥६॥ Aapé mél læhu parabʰ saaché pooræ karam ṫooⁿ paavṇi▫aa. ||6|| You unite me with Yourself, O True God. Through perfect good karma You are obtained. ||6|| ਮੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਧੈ ਜੇਹਾ ॥ मै होरु न कोई तुधै जेहा ॥ Mæ hor na ko▫ee ṫuḋʰæ jéhaa. For me, there is no other like You. ਤੇਰੀ ਨਦਰੀ ਸੀਝਸਿ ਦੇਹਾ ॥ तेरी नदरी सीझसि देहा ॥ Ṫéree naḋree seejʰas ḋéhaa. By Your Glance of Grace, my body is blessed and sanctified. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਹਿ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ अनदिनु सारि समालि हरि राखहि गुरमुखि सहजि समावणिआ ॥७॥ An▫ḋin saar samaal har raakʰahi gurmukʰ sahj samaavaṇi▫aa. ||7|| Night and day, the Lord takes care of us and protects us. The Gurmukhs are absorbed in intuitive peace and poise. ||7|| ਤੁਧੁ ਜੇਵਡੁ ਮੈ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥ तुधु जेवडु मै होरु न कोई ॥ Ṫuḋʰ jévad mæ hor na ko▫ee. For me, there is no other as Great as You. ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਿਰਜੀ ਆਪੇ ਗੋਈ ॥ तुधु आपे सिरजी आपे गोई ॥ Ṫuḋʰ aapé sirjee aapé go▫ee. You Yourself create, and You Yourself destroy. ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਘੜਿ ਭੰਨਿ ਸਵਾਰਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਸੁਹਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੫॥੬॥ तूं आपे ही घड़ि भंनि सवारहि नानक नामि सुहावणिआ ॥८॥५॥६॥ Ṫooⁿ aapé hee gʰaṛ bʰann savaarėh Naanak naam suhaavaṇi▫aa. ||8||5||6|| You Yourself create, destroy and adorn. O Nanak! We are adorned and embellished with the Naam. ||8||5||6||
