ਤੁਖਾਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ तुखारी महला १ ॥ Ṫukʰaaree mėhlaa 1. Tukhaari, First Mehl: ਮੇਰੇ ਲਾਲ ਰੰਗੀਲੇ ਹਮ ਲਾਲਨ ਕੇ ਲਾਲੇ ॥ मेरे लाल रंगीले हम लालन के लाले ॥ Méré laal rangeelé ham laalan ké laalé. O my Dear Beloved, I am the slave of Your slaves. ਗੁਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ गुरि अलखु लखाइआ जा तिसु भाइआ जा प्रभि किरपा धारी ॥ Gur alakʰ lakʰaa▫i▫aa jaa ṫis bʰaa▫i▫aa jaa parabʰ kirpaa ḋʰaaree. The Guru showed me the Invisible Lord, when it pleased Him, and when God showered His Blessings. ਗੁਰਿ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਇਆ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਭਾਲੇ ॥ गुरि अलखु लखाइआ अवरु न दूजा भाले ॥ Gur alakʰ lakʰaa▫i▫aa avar na ḋoojaa bʰaalé. The Guru has shown me the Invisible Lord, and now, I do not seek any other. ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਦਾਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲੇ ਬਨਵਾਰੀ ॥ जगजीवनु दाता पुरखु बिधाता सहजि मिले बनवारी ॥ Jagjeevan ḋaaṫaa purakʰ biḋʰaaṫaa sahj milé banvaaree. The Life of the World, the Great Giver, the Primal Lord, the Architect of Destiny, the Lord of the woods - I have met Him with intuitive ease. ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਤੂ ਤਾਰਹਿ ਤਰੀਐ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ नदरि करहि तू तारहि तरीऐ सचु देवहु दीन दइआला ॥ Naḋar karahi ṫoo ṫaarėh ṫaree▫æ sach ḋévhu ḋeen ḋa▫i▫aalaa. Bestow Your Glance of Grace and carry me across, to save me. Please bless me with the Truth, O Lord, Merciful to the meek. ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਤੂ ਸਰਬ ਜੀਆ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥੧॥ प्रणवति नानक दासनि दासा तू सरब जीआ प्रतिपाला ॥१॥ Paraṇvaṫ Naanak ḋaasan ḋaasaa ṫoo sarab jee▫aa parṫipaalaa. ||1|| Prays Nanak, I am the slave of Your slaves. You are the Cherisher of all souls. ||1|| ਭਰਿਪੁਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਰਹੇ ਅਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ भरिपुरि धारि रहे अति पिआरे ॥ Bʰaripur ḋʰaar rahé aṫ pi▫aaré. My Dear Beloved is enshrined throughout the Universe. ਸਬਦੇ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਗੁਰ ਰੂਪਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ॥ सबदे रवि रहिआ गुर रूपि मुरारे ॥ Sabḋé rav rahi▫aa gur roop muraaré. The Shabad is pervading, through the Guru, the Embodiment of the Lord. ਗੁਰ ਰੂਪ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਧਾਰੇ ਤਾ ਕਾ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ गुर रूप मुरारे त्रिभवण धारे ता का अंतु न पाइआ ॥ Gur roop muraaré ṫaribʰavaṇ ḋʰaaré ṫaa kaa anṫ na paa▫i▫aa. The Guru, the Embodiment of the Lord, is enshrined throughout the three worlds; His limits cannot be found. ਰੰਗੀ ਜਿਨਸੀ ਜੰਤ ਉਪਾਏ ਨਿਤ ਦੇਵੈ ਚੜੈ ਸਵਾਇਆ ॥ रंगी जिनसी जंत उपाए नित देवै चड़ै सवाइआ ॥ Rangee jinsee janṫ upaa▫é niṫ ḋévæ chaṛæ savaa▫i▫aa. He created the beings of various colors and kinds; His Blessings increase day by day. ਅਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਹੋਵੈ ॥ अपर्मपरु आपे थापि उथापे तिसु भावै सो होवै ॥ Aprampar aapé ṫʰaap uṫʰaapé ṫis bʰaavæ so hovæ. The Infinite Lord Himself establishes and disestablishes; whatever pleases Him, happens. ਨਾਨਕ ਹੀਰਾ ਹੀਰੈ ਬੇਧਿਆ ਗੁਣ ਕੈ ਹਾਰਿ ਪਰੋਵੈ ॥੨॥ नानक हीरा हीरै बेधिआ गुण कै हारि परोवै ॥२॥ Naanak heeraa heeræ béḋʰi▫aa guṇ kæ haar parovæ. ||2|| O Nanak! The diamond of the mind is pierced through by the diamond of spiritual wisdom. The garland of virtue is strung. ||2|| ਗੁਣ ਗੁਣਹਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਨਾਮ ਨੀਸਾਣੋ ॥ गुण गुणहि समाणे मसतकि नाम नीसाणो ॥ Guṇ guṇėh samaaṇé masṫak naam neesaaṇo. The virtuous person merges in the Virtuous Lord; his forehead bears the insignia of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ਚੂਕਾ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੋ ॥ सचु साचि समाइआ चूका आवण जाणो ॥ Sach saach samaa▫i▫aa chookaa aavaṇ jaaṇo. The true person merges in the True Lord; his comings and goings are over. ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ਸਾਚੈ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ सचु साचि पछाता साचै राता साचु मिलै मनि भावै ॥ Sach saach pachʰaaṫaa saachæ raaṫaa saach milæ man bʰaavæ. The true person realizes the True Lord, and is imbued with Truth. He meets the True Lord, and is pleasing to the Lord’s Mind. ਸਾਚੇ ਊਪਰਿ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੀਸੈ ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥ साचे ऊपरि अवरु न दीसै साचे साचि समावै ॥ Saaché oopar avar na ḋeesæ saaché saach samaavæ. No one else is seen to be above the True Lord; the true person merges in the True Lord. ਨਾਨਕ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਣੀ ਜਾ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅਤਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥੩॥ नानक जोती जोति समाणी जा मिलिआ अति पिआरे ॥३॥ Naanak joṫee joṫ samaaṇee jaa mili▫aa aṫ pi▫aaré. ||3|| O Nanak! My light merged into the Light, when I met my most Darling Beloved. ||3|| ਮੋਹਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੀਆ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ਬੰਧਨ ਖੋਲਿ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥ मोहनि मोहि लीआ मनु मेरा बंधन खोलि निरारे ॥ Mohan mohi lee▫aa man méraa banḋʰan kʰol niraaré. The Fascinating Lord has fascinated my mind; releasing me from bondage, He has set me free. ਸਚ ਘਰੁ ਖੋਜਿ ਲਹੇ ਸਾਚਾ ਗੁਰ ਥਾਨੋ ॥ सच घरु खोजि लहे साचा गुर थानो ॥ Sach gʰar kʰoj lahé saachaa gur ṫʰaano. By searching, the true home, the place of the True Guru is found. ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਨਹ ਪਾਈਐ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੋ ॥ मनमुखि नह पाईऐ गुरमुखि गिआनो ॥ Manmukʰ nah paa▫ee▫æ gurmukʰ gi▫aano. The Gurmukh obtains spiritual wisdom, while the self-willed Manmukh does not. ਦੇਵੈ ਸਚੁ ਦਾਨੋ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਨੋ ਸਦ ਦਾਤਾ ਵਡ ਦਾਣਾ ॥ देवै सचु दानो सो परवानो सद दाता वड दाणा ॥ Ḋévæ sach ḋaano so parvaano saḋ ḋaaṫaa vad ḋaaṇaa. Whoever the Lord has blessed with the gift of Truth is accepted; the Supremely Wise Lord is forever the Great Giver. ਅਮਰੁ ਅਜੋਨੀ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਜਾਪੈ ਸਾਚਾ ਮਹਲੁ ਚਿਰਾਣਾ ॥ अमरु अजोनी असथिरु जापै साचा महलु चिराणा ॥ Amar ajonee asṫʰir jaapæ saachaa mahal chiraaṇaa. He is known to be Immortal, Unborn and Permanent; the True Mansion of His Presence is everlasting. ਦੋਤਿ ਉਚਾਪਤਿ ਲੇਖੁ ਨ ਲਿਖੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਗਟੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥ दोति उचापति लेखु न लिखीऐ प्रगटी जोति मुरारी ॥ Ḋoṫ uchaapaṫ lékʰ na likee▫æ pargatee joṫ muraaree. The day-to-day account of deeds is not recorded for that person, who manifests the radiance of the Divine Light of the Lord. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਾਚੈ ਰਾਚਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤਰੀਐ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੫॥ नानक साचा साचै राचा गुरमुखि तरीऐ तारी ॥४॥५॥ Naanak saachaa saachæ raachaa gurmukʰ ṫaree▫æ ṫaaree. ||4||5|| O Nanak! The true person is absorbed in the True Lord; the Gurmukh crosses over to the other side. ||4||5||
