ਇਕੋ ਆਪਿ ਫਿਰੈ ਪਰਛੰਨਾ ॥ इको आपि फिरै परछंना ॥ Iko āp firai parcẖẖannā. The One Lord Himself moves about imperceptibly. ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ माझ महला ३ ॥ Mājẖ mėhlā 3. Maajh, Third Mehl: ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਤਜਿ ਸਹਜ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਏਕੋ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ त्रिसना तजि सहज सुखु पाइआ एको मंनि वसावणिआ ॥१॥ Ŧarisnā ṯaj sahj sukẖ pā▫i▫ā eko man vasāvaṇi▫ā. ||1|| Renouncing desire, I have found intuitive peace and poise; I have enshrined the One within my mind. ||1|| ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵੇਖਾ ਤਾ ਇਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਭਿੰਨਾ ॥ गुरमुखि वेखा ता इहु मनु भिंना ॥ Gurmukẖ vekẖā ṯā ih man bẖinnā. As Gurmukh, I see Him, and then this mind is pleased and uplifted. ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਜੀਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਇਕਸੁ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥ हउ वारी जीउ वारी इकसु सिउ चितु लावणिआ ॥ Ha▫o vārī jī▫o vārī ikas si▫o cẖiṯ lāvaṇi▫ā. I am a sacrifice, my soul is a sacrifice, to those who focus their consciousness on the One. ਇਹੁ ਜਗੁ ਭੂਲਾ ਤੈਂ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ॥ इहु जगु भूला तैं आपि भुलाइआ ॥ Ih jag bẖūlā ṯaiʼn āp bẖulā▫i▫ā. This world is deluded; You Yourself have deluded it. ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਮਨੁ ਇਕਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ਸਚੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰੰਗਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गुरमती मनु इकतु घरि आइआ सचै रंगि रंगावणिआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Gurmaṯī man ikaṯ gẖar ā▫i▫ā sacẖai rang rangāviṇ▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o. Through the Guru's Teachings, my mind has come to its only home; it is imbued with the True Color of the Lord's Love. ||1||Pause|| ਇਕੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਲੋਭਾਇਆ ॥ इकु विसारि दूजै लोभाइआ ॥ Ik visār ḏūjai lobẖā▫i▫ā. Forgetting the One, it has become engrossed in duality. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਭੂਲਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੨॥ अनदिनु सदा फिरै भ्रमि भूला बिनु नावै दुखु पावणिआ ॥२॥ An▫ḏin saḏā firai bẖaram bẖūlā bin nāvai ḏukẖ pāvṇi▫ā. ||2|| Night and day, it wanders around endlessly, deluded by doubt; without the Name, it suffers in pain. ||2|| ਜੋ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਾਤੇ ॥ जो रंगि राते करम बिधाते ॥ Jo rang rāṯe karam biḏẖāṯe. Those who are attuned to the Love of the Lord, the Architect of Destiny - ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਜਾਤੇ ॥ गुर सेवा ते जुग चारे जाते ॥ Gur sevā ṯe jug cẖāre jāṯe. by serving the Guru, they are known throughout the four ages. ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਆਪਿ ਦੇਇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੩॥ जिस नो आपि देइ वडिआई हरि कै नामि समावणिआ ॥३॥ Jis no āp ḏe▫e vadi▫ā▫ī har kai nām samāvaṇi▫ā. ||3|| Those, upon whom the Lord bestows greatness, are absorbed in the Name of the Lord. ||3|| ਅੰਨਾ ਬੋਲਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਦਰਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਪਾਪਿ ਪਚਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੪॥ अंना बोला किछु नदरि न आवै मनमुख पापि पचावणिआ ॥४॥ Annā bolā kicẖẖ naḏar na āvai manmukẖ pāp pacẖāvaṇi▫ā. ||4|| Blind and deaf, they see nothing at all; the self-willed manmukhs rot away in sin. ||4|| ਜਮਪੁਰਿ ਬਧਾ ਦੁਖ ਸਹਾਹੀ ॥ जमपुरि बधा दुख सहाही ॥ Jampur baḏẖā ḏukẖ sahāhī. Bound and gagged in the City of Death, they suffer in terrible pain. ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਚੇਤੈ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ माइआ मोहि हरि चेतै नाही ॥ Mā▫i▫ā mohi har cẖeṯai nāhī. Being in love with Maya, they do not think of the Lord. ਇਕਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ ॥ इकि रंगि राते जो तुधु आपि लिव लाए ॥ Ik rang rāṯe jo ṯuḏẖ āp liv lā▫e. Those, whom You attach to Your Love, are attuned to Your Love. ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਏ ॥ भाइ भगति तेरै मनि भाए ॥ Bẖā▫e bẖagaṯ ṯerai man bẖā▫e. Through loving devotional worship, they become pleasing to Your Mind. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਸਭ ਇਛਾ ਆਪਿ ਪੁਜਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੫॥ सतिगुरु सेवनि सदा सुखदाता सभ इछा आपि पुजावणिआ ॥५॥ Saṯgur sevan saḏā sukẖ▫ḏāṯa sabẖ icẖẖā āp pujāvaṇi▫ā. ||5|| They serve the True Guru, the Giver of eternal peace, and all their desires are fulfilled. ||5|| ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ हरि जीउ तेरी सदा सरणाई ॥ Har jī▫o ṯerī saḏā sarṇā▫ī. O Dear Lord, I seek Your Sanctuary forever. ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸਿਹਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ आपे बखसिहि दे वडिआई ॥ Āpe bakẖsihi ḏe vadi▫ā▫ī. You Yourself forgive us, and bless us with Glorious Greatness. ਜਮਕਾਲੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਨੇੜਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵਣਿਆ ॥੬॥ जमकालु तिसु नेड़ि न आवै जो हरि हरि नामु धिआवणिआ ॥६॥ Jamkāl ṯis neṛ na āvai jo har har nām ḏẖi▫āvaṇi▫ā. ||6|| The Messenger of Death does not draw near those who meditate on the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. ||6|| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਚੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਤੂੰ ਆਪੇ ਸਚੁ ਬੁਝਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ सदा सदा सचे तेरी सरणाई तूं आपे सचु बुझावणिआ ॥७॥ Saḏā saḏā sacẖe ṯerī sarṇā▫ī ṯūʼn āpe sacẖ bujẖāvaṇi▫ā. ||7|| Forever and ever, O True Lord, I seek the Protection of Your Sanctuary; You Yourself inspire us to understand the Truth. ||7|| ਮੇਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਮੇਲੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ मेरै प्रभि मेले मेलि मिलाए ॥ Merai parabẖ mele mel milā▫e. My God merges with them, and unites them in Union. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਏ ॥ अनदिनु राते जो हरि भाए ॥ An▫ḏin rāṯe jo har bẖā▫e. Night and day, they are attuned to His Love; they are pleasing to the Lord. ਜਿਨ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਸੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਣੇ ॥ जिन सचु जाता से सचि समाणे ॥ Jin sacẖ jāṯā se sacẖ samāṇe. Those who know the Truth are absorbed in Truth. ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਵਖਾਣੇ ॥ हरि गुण गावहि सचु वखाणे ॥ Har guṇ gāvahi sacẖ vakẖāṇe. They sing the Lord's Glorious Praises, and speak the Truth. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਤਾੜੀ ਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੮॥੩॥੪॥ नानक नामि रते बैरागी निज घरि ताड़ी लावणिआ ॥८॥३॥४॥ Nānak nām raṯe bairāgī nij gẖar ṯāṛī lāvaṇi▫ā. ||8||3||4|| O Nanak, those who are attuned to the Naam remain unattached and balanced; in the home of the inner self, they are absorbed in the primal trance of deep meditation. ||8||3||4||
