ਨਦਰੀ ਭਗਤਾ ਲੈਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥

ਨਦਰੀ ਭਗਤਾ ਲੈਹੁ ਮਿਲਾਏ
नदरी भगता लैहु मिलाए ॥
Naḏrī bẖagṯā laihu milā▫e.
By Your Grace, please unite with Your devotees.

ਭਗਤ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਸਦਾ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਏ
भगत सलाहनि सदा लिव लाए ॥
Bẖagaṯ salāhan saḏā liv lā▫e.
Your devotees ever praise You, lovingly focusing on You.

ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ
मारू महला ३ ॥
Mārū mėhlā 3.
Maaroo, Third Mehl:

ਤਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਉਬਰਹਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
तउ सरणाई उबरहि करते आपे मेलि मिलाइआ ॥१॥
Ŧa▫o sarṇā▫ī ubrahi karṯe āpe mel milā▫i▫ā. ||1||
In Your Sanctuary, they are saved, O Creator Lord; You unite them in Union with Yourself. ||1||

ਪੂਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਭਗਤਿ ਸੁਹਾਈ
पूरै सबदि भगति सुहाई ॥
Pūrai sabaḏ bẖagaṯ suhā▫ī.
Sublime and exalted is devotion to the Perfect Word of the Shabad.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਈ
अंतरि सुखु तेरै मनि भाई ॥
Anṯar sukẖ ṯerai man bẖā▫ī.
Peace prevails within; they are pleasing to Your Mind.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸਚੀ ਭਗਤੀ ਰਾਤਾ ਸਚੇ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੨॥
मनु तनु सची भगती राता सचे सिउ चितु लाइआ ॥२॥
Man ṯan sacẖī bẖagṯī rāṯā sacẖe si▫o cẖiṯ lā▫i▫ā. ||2||
One whose mind and body are imbued with true devotion, focuses his consciousness on the True Lord. ||2||

ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਦ ਜਲੈ ਸਰੀਰਾ
हउमै विचि सद जलै सरीरा ॥
Ha▫umai vicẖ saḏ jalai sarīrā.
In egotism, the body is forever burning.

ਕਰਮੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਭੇਟੇ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ
करमु होवै भेटे गुरु पूरा ॥
Karam hovai bẖete gur pūrā.
When God grants His Grace, one meets the Perfect Guru.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਅਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਤੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
अंतरि अगिआनु सबदि बुझाए सतिगुर ते सुखु पाइआ ॥३॥
Anṯar agi▫ān sabaḏ bujẖā▫e saṯgur ṯe sukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||3||
The Shabad dispels the spiritual ignorance within, and through the True Guru, one finds peace. ||3||

ਬਹੁ ਸੰਕਟ ਜੋਨੀ ਭਰਮਾਏ
बहु संकट जोनी भरमाए ॥
Baho sankat jonī bẖarmā▫e.
He is in terrible trouble, and wanders in reincarnation.

ਜਮ ਕਾ ਜੇਵੜਾ ਕਦੇ ਕਾਟੈ ਅੰਤੇ ਬਹੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੪॥
जम का जेवड़ा कदे न काटै अंते बहु दुखु पाइआ ॥४॥
Jam kā jevṛā kaḏe na kātai anṯe baho ḏukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||4||
He can never snap the noose of Death, and in the end, he suffers in horrible pain. ||4||

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅੰਧਾ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਮਾਏ
मनमुखु अंधा अंधु कमाए ॥
Manmukẖ anḏẖā anḏẖ kamā▫e.
The blind, self-willed manmukh acts blindly.

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਰੇ
आवण जाणा सबदि निवारे ॥
Āvaṇ jāṇā sabaḏ nivāre.
Through the Shabad, one's comings and goings in reincarnation are ended.

ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਖੈ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੇ
सचु नामु रखै उर धारे ॥
Sacẖ nām rakẖai ur ḏẖāre.
He keeps the True Name enshrined within his heart.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਜਾਇ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੫॥
गुर कै सबदि मरै मनु मारे हउमै जाइ समाइआ ॥५॥
Gur kai sabaḏ marai man māre ha▫umai jā▫e samā▫i▫ā. ||5||
He dies in the Word of the Guru's Shabad, and conquers his mind; stilling his egotism, he merges in the Lord. ||5||

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੈ ਪਰਜ ਵਿਗੋਈ
आवण जाणै परज विगोई ॥
Āvaṇ jāṇai paraj vigo▫ī.
Coming and going, the people of the world are wasting away.

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਥਿਰੁ ਕੋਇ ਹੋਈ
बिनु सतिगुर थिरु कोइ न होई ॥
Bin saṯgur thir ko▫e na ho▫ī.
Without the True Guru, no one finds permanence and stability.

ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੬॥
अंतरि जोति सबदि सुखु वसिआ जोती जोति मिलाइआ ॥६॥
Anṯar joṯ sabaḏ sukẖ vasi▫ā joṯī joṯ milā▫i▫ā. ||6||
The Shabad shines its Light deep within the self, and one dwells in peace; one's light merges into the Light. ||6||

ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਚਿਤਵਹਿ ਵਿਕਾਰਾ
पंच दूत चितवहि विकारा ॥
Pancẖ ḏūṯ cẖiṯvahi vikārā.
The five demons think of evil and corruption.

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਕਾ ਏਹੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ
माइआ मोह का एहु पसारा ॥
Mā▫i▫ā moh kā ehu pasārā.
The expanse is the manifestation of emotional attachment to Maya.

ਬਾਝੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਹੈ ਮੋਹੁ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ
बाझु गुरू है मोहु गुबारा ॥
Bājẖ gurū hai moh gubārā.
Without the Guru, there is only the darkness of attachment.

ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਡੁਬੈ ਵਾਰੋ ਵਾਰਾ
फिरि फिरि डुबै वारो वारा ॥
Fir fir dubai vāro vārā.
Over and over, time and time again, they are drowned.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਾ ਮੁਕਤੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਪੰਚ ਦੂਤ ਵਸਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੭॥
सतिगुरु सेवे ता मुकतु होवै पंच दूत वसि आइआ ॥७॥
Saṯgur seve ṯā mukaṯ hovai pancẖ ḏūṯ vas ā▫i▫ā. ||7||
Serving the True Guru, one is liberated, and the five demons are put under his control. ||7||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਸਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਇਆ ॥੮॥
सतिगुर भेटे सचु द्रिड़ाए सचु नामु मनि भाइआ ॥८॥
Saṯgur bẖete sacẖ driṛ▫ā▫e sacẖ nām man bẖā▫i▫ā. ||8||
Meeting the True Guru, Truth is implanted within, and the True Name becomes pleasing to the mind. ||8||

ਸਾਚਾ ਦਰੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਦਰਵਾਰਾ
साचा दरु साचा दरवारा ॥
Sācẖā ḏar sācẖā ḏarvārā.
True is His Door, and True is His Court, His Royal Darbaar.

ਸਚੇ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ
सचे सेवहि सबदि पिआरा ॥
Sacẖe sevėh sabaḏ pi▫ārā.
The true ones serve Him, through the Beloved Word of the Shabad.

ਸਚੀ ਧੁਨਿ ਸਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ ਸਚੇ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੯॥
सची धुनि सचे गुण गावा सचे माहि समाइआ ॥९॥
Sacẖī ḏẖun sacẖe guṇ gāvā sacẖe māhi samā▫i▫ā. ||9||
Singing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord, in the true melody, I am immersed and absorbed in Truth. ||9||

ਘਰੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕੋ ਘਰੁ ਪਾਏ
घरै अंदरि को घरु पाए ॥
Gẖarai anḏar ko gẖar pā▫e.
Deep within the home of the self, one finds the home of the Lord.

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸੁਭਾਏ
गुर कै सबदे सहजि सुभाए ॥
Gur kai sabḏe sahj subẖā▫e.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, one easily, intuitively finds it.

ਓਥੈ ਸੋਗੁ ਵਿਜੋਗੁ ਵਿਆਪੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧੦॥
ओथै सोगु विजोगु न विआपै सहजे सहजि समाइआ ॥१०॥
Othai sog vijog na vi▫āpai sėhje sahj samā▫i▫ā. ||10||
There, one is not afflicted with sorrow or separation; merge into the Celestial Lord with intuitive ease. ||10||

ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਦੁਸਟਾ ਕਾ ਵਾਸਾ
दूजै भाइ दुसटा का वासा ॥
Ḏūjai bẖā▫e ḏustā kā vāsā.
The evil people live in the love of duality.

ਭਉਦੇ ਫਿਰਹਿ ਬਹੁ ਮੋਹ ਪਿਆਸਾ
भउदे फिरहि बहु मोह पिआसा ॥
Bẖa▫uḏe firėh baho moh pi▫āsā.
They wander around, totally attached and thirsty.

ਕੁਸੰਗਤਿ ਬਹਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਦੁਖੋ ਦੁਖੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥੧੧॥
कुसंगति बहहि सदा दुखु पावहि दुखो दुखु कमाइआ ॥११॥
Kusangaṯ bahėh saḏā ḏukẖ pāvahi ḏukẖo ḏukẖ kamā▫i▫ā. ||11||
They sit in evil gatherings, and suffer in pain forever; they earn pain, nothing but pain. ||11||

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਈ
सतिगुर बाझहु संगति न होई ॥
Saṯgur bājẖahu sangaṯ na ho▫ī.
Without the True Guru, there is no Sangat, no Congregation.

ਸਹਜੇ ਗੁਣ ਰਵਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੧੨॥
सहजे गुण रवहि दिनु राती जोती जोति मिलाइआ ॥१२॥
Sėhje guṇ ravėh ḏin rāṯī joṯī joṯ milā▫i▫ā. ||12||
One who intuitively chants God's Glorious Praises day and night - his light merges into the Light. ||12||

ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਪਾਰੁ ਪਾਏ ਕੋਈ
बिनु सबदे पारु न पाए कोई ॥
Bin sabḏe pār na pā▫e ko▫ī.
Without the Shabad, no one can cross over to the other side.

ਕਾਇਆ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਪੰਖੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਾਸਾ
काइआ बिरखु पंखी विचि वासा ॥
Kā▫i▫ā birakẖ pankẖī vicẖ vāsā.
The body is the tree; the bird of the soul dwells within it.

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਚੁਗਹਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਿਵਾਸਾ
अम्रितु चुगहि गुर सबदि निवासा ॥
Amriṯ cẖugėh gur sabaḏ nivāsā.
It drinks in the Ambrosial Nectar, resting in the Word of the Guru's Shabad.

ਉਡਹਿ ਮੂਲੇ ਆਵਹਿ ਜਾਹੀ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧੩॥
उडहि न मूले न आवहि न जाही निज घरि वासा पाइआ ॥१३॥
Uḏėh na mūle na āvahi na jāhī nij gẖar vāsā pā▫i▫ā. ||13||
It never flies away, and it does not come or go; it dwells within the home of its own self. ||13||

ਕਾਇਆ ਸੋਧਹਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਹਿ
काइआ सोधहि सबदु वीचारहि ॥
Kā▫i▫ā soḏẖėh sabaḏ vicẖārėh.
Purify the body, and contemplate the Shabad.

ਮੋਹ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਭਰਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਹਿ
मोह ठगउरी भरमु निवारहि ॥
Moh ṯẖag▫urī bẖaram nivārėh.
Remove the poisonous drug of emotional attachment, and eradicate doubt.

ਆਪੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੧੪॥
आपे क्रिपा करे सुखदाता आपे मेलि मिलाइआ ॥१४॥
Āpe kirpā kare sukẖ▫ḏāṯa āpe mel milā▫i▫ā. ||14||
The Giver of peace Himself bestows His Mercy, and unites us in Union with Himself. ||14||

ਸਦ ਹੀ ਨੇੜੈ ਦੂਰਿ ਜਾਣਹੁ
सद ही नेड़ै दूरि न जाणहु ॥
Saḏ hī neṛai ḏūr na jāṇhu.
He is always near at hand; He is never far away.

ਬਿਗਸੈ ਕਮਲੁ ਕਿਰਣਿ ਪਰਗਾਸੈ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਾਇਆ ॥੧੫॥
बिगसै कमलु किरणि परगासै परगटु करि देखाइआ ॥१५॥
Bigsai kamal kiraṇ pargāsai pargat kar ḏekẖā▫i▫ā. ||15||
Your heart-lotus shall blossom forth, and the ray of God's Divine Light shall illuminate your heart; He shall be revealed to You. ||15||

ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਨਜੀਕਿ ਪਛਾਣਹੁ
गुर कै सबदि नजीकि पछाणहु ॥
Gur kai sabaḏ najīk pacẖẖāṇhu.
Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, realize that He is very near.

ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਸਚਾ ਸੋਈ
आपे करता सचा सोई ॥
Āpe karṯā sacẖā so▫ī.
The True Lord is Himself the Creator.

ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਕੋਈ
आपे मारि जीवाले अवरु न कोई ॥
Āpe mār jīvāle avar na ko▫ī.
He Himself kills, and gives life; there is no other at all.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੧੬॥੨॥੨੪॥
नानक नामु मिलै वडिआई आपु गवाइ सुखु पाइआ ॥१६॥२॥२४॥
Nānak nām milai vadi▫ā▫ī āp gavā▫e sukẖ pā▫i▫ā. ||16||2||24||
O Nanak, through the Naam, the Name of the Lord, glorious greatness is obtained. Eradicating self-conceit, peace is found. ||16||2||24||
