ਜੋ ਤੁਧੁ ਕਰਣਾ ਸੋ ਕਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ जो तुधु करणा सो करि पाइआ ॥ Jo ṯuḏẖ karṇā so kar pā▫i▫ā. Whatever You do, is done. ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ मारू महला ३ ॥ Mārū mėhlā 3. Maaroo, Third Mehl: ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਆਇਆ ॥ भाणे विचि को विरला आइआ ॥ Bẖāṇe vicẖ ko virlā ā▫i▫ā. How rare are those who walk in harmony with the Lord's Will. ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨੇ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧॥ भाणा मंने सो सुखु पाए भाणे विचि सुखु पाइदा ॥१॥ Bẖāṇā manne so sukẖ pā▫e bẖāṇe vicẖ sukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||1|| One who surrenders to the Lord's Will finds peace; he finds peace in the Lord's Will. ||1|| ਸਹਜੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਚੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ सहजे ही सुखु सचु कमावै ॥ Sėhje hī sukẖ sacẖ kamāvai. Practicing Truth, he intuitively finds peace. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਵੈ ॥ गुरमुखि तेरा भाणा भावै ॥ Gurmukẖ ṯerā bẖāṇā bẖāvai. Your Will is pleasing to the Gurmukh. ਭਾਣੇ ਨੋ ਲੋਚੈ ਬਹੁਤੇਰੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਆਪਿ ਮਨਾਇਦਾ ॥੨॥ भाणे नो लोचै बहुतेरी आपणा भाणा आपि मनाइदा ॥२॥ Bẖāṇe no locẖai bahuṯerī āpṇā bẖāṇā āp manā▫iḏā. ||2|| Many long to walk in harmony with the Lord's Will; He Himself inspires us to surrender to His Will. ||2|| ਤੇਰਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਮੰਨੇ ਸੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਏ ॥ तेरा भाणा मंने सु मिलै तुधु आए ॥ Ŧerā bẖāṇā manne so milai ṯuḏẖ ā▫e. One who surrenders to Your Will, meets with You, Lord. ਜਿਸੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਤੁਝਹਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥ जिसु भाणा भावै सो तुझहि समाए ॥ Jis bẖāṇā bẖāvai so ṯujẖėh samā▫e. One who is pleased with Your Will is immersed in You. ਭਾਣੇ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਭਾਣਾ ਕਿਸਹਿ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੩॥ भाणे विचि वडी वडिआई भाणा किसहि कराइदा ॥३॥ Bẖāṇe vicẖ vadī vadi▫ā▫ī bẖāṇā kisėh karā▫iḏā. ||3|| Glorious greatness rests in God's Will; rare are those who accept it. ||3|| ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਤਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਏ ॥ जा तिसु भावै ता गुरू मिलाए ॥ Jā ṯis bẖāvai ṯā gurū milā▫e. When it pleases His Will, He leads us to meet the Guru. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ गुरमुखि नामु पदारथु पाए ॥ Gurmukẖ nām paḏārath pā▫e. The Gurmukh finds the treasure of the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਤੁਧੁ ਆਪਣੈ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਭ ਸ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਉਪਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਭਾਣਾ ਦੇਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਇਦਾ ॥੪॥ तुधु आपणै भाणै सभ स्रिसटि उपाई जिस नो भाणा देहि तिसु भाइदा ॥४॥ Ŧuḏẖ āpṇai bẖāṇai sabẖ sarisat upā▫ī jis no bẖāṇā ḏėh ṯis bẖā▫iḏā. ||4|| By Your Will, You created the whole Universe; those whom You bless with Your favor are pleased with Your Will. ||4|| ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਰੇ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ॥ मनमुखु अंधु करे चतुराई ॥ Manmukẖ anḏẖ kare cẖaṯurā▫ī. The blind, self-willed manmukhs practice cleverness. ਭਾਣਾ ਨ ਮੰਨੇ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ भाणा न मंने बहुतु दुखु पाई ॥ Bẖāṇā na manne bahuṯ ḏukẖ pā▫ī. They do not surrender to the Lord's Will, and suffer terrible pain. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ सतिगुरु मेले दे वडिआई ॥ Saṯgur mele ḏe vadi▫ā▫ī. The True Guru brings Union, and grants glorious greatness. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਧੁਰਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਈ ॥ सतिगुर की सेवा धुरि फुरमाई ॥ Saṯgur kī sevā ḏẖur furmā▫ī. The Primal Lord ordained service to the True Guru. ਭਰਮੇ ਭੂਲਾ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਏ ਘਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੫॥ भरमे भूला आवै जाए घरु महलु न कबहू पाइदा ॥५॥ Bẖarme bẖūlā āvai jā▫e gẖar mahal na kabhū pā▫iḏā. ||5|| Deluded by doubt, they come and go in reincarnation; they never find the Mansion of the Lord's Presence. ||5|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵੇ ਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਮੇ ਹੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥ सतिगुर सेवे ता नामु पाए नामे ही सुखु पाइदा ॥६॥ Saṯgur seve ṯā nām pā▫e nāme hī sukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||6|| Serving the True Guru, the Naam is obtained. Through the Naam, one finds peace. ||6|| ਸਭ ਨਾਵਹੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਨਾਵਹੁ ਛੀਜੈ ॥ सभ नावहु उपजै नावहु छीजै ॥ Sabẖ nāvhu upjai nāvhu cẖẖījai. Everything wells up from the Naam, and through the Naam, perishes. ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਭੀਜੈ ॥ गुर किरपा ते मनु तनु भीजै ॥ Gur kirpā ṯe man ṯan bẖījai. By Guru's Grace, the mind and body are pleased with the Naam. ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਰਸਿ ਭੀਜੈ ਰਸ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੭॥ रसना नामु धिआए रसि भीजै रस ही ते रसु पाइदा ॥७॥ Rasnā nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e ras bẖījai ras hī ṯe ras pā▫iḏā. ||7|| Meditating on the Naam, the tongue is drenched with the Lord's sublime essence. Through this essence, the Essence is obtained. ||7|| ਮਹਲੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮਹਲੁ ਕੋ ਪਾਏ ॥ महलै अंदरि महलु को पाए ॥ Mahlai anḏar mahal ko pā▫e. Rare are those who find the Mansion of the Lord's Presence within the mansion of their own body. ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥ गुर कै सबदि सचि चितु लाए ॥ Gur kai sabaḏ sacẖ cẖiṯ lā▫e. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they lovingly focus their consciousness on the True Lord. ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਸਚੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੋਈ ਸਚੁ ਪਾਏ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥ जिस नो सचु देइ सोई सचु पाए सचे सचि मिलाइदा ॥८॥ Jis no sacẖ ḏe▫e so▫ī sacẖ pā▫e sacẖe sacẖ milā▫iḏā. ||8|| Whoever the Lord blesses with Truth obtains Truth; he merges in Truth, and only Truth. ||8|| ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹੈ ਕੁਸਟੀ ਨਰਕੇ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥ बिनु नावै मनु तनु है कुसटी नरके वासा पाइदा ॥९॥ Bin nāvai man ṯan hai kustī narke vāsā pā▫iḏā. ||9|| Without the Name, his mind and body are afflicted with leprosy, and he obtains his home in hell. ||9|| ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਸਭੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਕਮਾਇਆ ॥ माइआ मोहु सभु रोगु कमाइआ ॥ Mā▫i▫ā moh sabẖ rog kamā▫i▫ā. Attached to the love of Maya, he earns nothing but disease. ਨਾਮੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ नामु विसारि मनि तनि दुखु पाइआ ॥ Nām visār man ṯan ḏukẖ pā▫i▫ā. Forgetting the Naam, the Name of the Lord, the mind and body suffer in pain. ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਤਿਨ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਦੇਹਾ ॥ नामि रते तिन निरमल देहा ॥ Nām raṯe ṯin nirmal ḏehā. Those who are imbued with the Naam - their bodies are immaculate and pure. ਨਿਰਮਲ ਹੰਸਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਨੇਹਾ ॥ निरमल हंसा सदा सुखु नेहा ॥ Nirmal hansā saḏā sukẖ nehā. Their soul-swan is immaculate, and in the Lord's Love, they find eternal peace. ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥ नामु सलाहि सदा सुखु पाइआ निज घरि वासा पाइदा ॥१०॥ Nām salāhi saḏā sukẖ pā▫i▫ā nij gẖar vāsā pā▫iḏā. ||10|| Praising the Naam, they find eternal peace, and dwell in the home of their own inner being. ||10|| ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵਣਜੁ ਕਰੇ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ॥ सभु को वणजु करे वापारा ॥ Sabẖ ko vaṇaj kare vāpārā. Everyone deals and trades. ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਸਭੁ ਤੋਟਾ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥ विणु नावै सभु तोटा संसारा ॥ viṇ nāvai sabẖ ṯotā sansārā. Without the Name, all the world loses. ਨਾਗੋ ਆਇਆ ਨਾਗੋ ਜਾਸੀ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥ नागो आइआ नागो जासी विणु नावै दुखु पाइदा ॥११॥ Nāgo ā▫i▫ā nāgo jāsī viṇ nāvai ḏukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||11|| Naked they come, and naked they go; without the Name, they suffer in pain. ||11|| ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਇ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ॥ जिस नो नामु देइ सो पाए ॥ Jis no nām ḏe▫e so pā▫e. He alone obtains the Naam, unto whom the Lord gives it. ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਹਰਿ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਏ ॥ गुर कै सबदि हरि मंनि वसाए ॥ Gur kai sabaḏ har man vasā▫e. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord comes to dwell in the mind. ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਿਆ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥ गुर किरपा ते नामु वसिआ घट अंतरि नामो नामु धिआइदा ॥१२॥ Gur kirpā ṯe nām vasi▫ā gẖat anṯar nāmo nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏā. ||12|| By Guru's Grace, the Naam dwells deep within the heart, and one meditates upon the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||12|| ਨਾਉ ਤਿਨਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਧੁਰਿ ਪੁਰਬਿ ਕਮਾਈ ॥ नाउ तिना मिलै धुरि पुरबि कमाई ॥ Nā▫o ṯinā milai ḏẖur purab kamā▫ī. They alone are blessed with the Name, whose past actions were so ordained by the Primal Lord. ਜਿਨੀ ਨਾਉ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥ जिनी नाउ पाइआ से वडभागी गुर कै सबदि मिलाइदा ॥१३॥ Jinī nā▫o pā▫i▫ā se vadbẖāgī gur kai sabaḏ milā▫iḏā. ||13|| Those who obtain the Name are very fortunate. Through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, they are united with God. ||13|| ਨਾਵੈ ਨੋ ਲੋਚੈ ਜੇਤੀ ਸਭ ਆਈ ॥ नावै नो लोचै जेती सभ आई ॥ Nāvai no locẖai jeṯī sabẖ ā▫ī. Everyone who comes into the world, longs for the Name. ਕਾਇਆ ਕੋਟੁ ਅਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ काइआ कोटु अति अपारा ॥ Kā▫i▫ā kot aṯ apārā. Utterly incomparable is the fortress of the body. ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਬਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕਰੇ ਵੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ तिसु विचि बहि प्रभु करे वीचारा ॥ Ŧis vicẖ bahi parabẖ kare vīcẖārā. Within it, God sits in contemplation. ਸਚਾ ਨਿਆਉ ਸਚੋ ਵਾਪਾਰਾ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥ सचा निआउ सचो वापारा निहचलु वासा पाइदा ॥१४॥ Sacẖā ni▫ā▫o sacẖo vāpārā nihcẖal vāsā pā▫iḏā. ||14|| He administers true justice, and trades in Truth; through Him, one finds the eternal, unchanging dwelling. ||14|| ਅੰਤਰ ਘਰ ਬੰਕੇ ਥਾਨੁ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥ अंतर घर बंके थानु सुहाइआ ॥ Anṯar gẖar banke thān suhā▫i▫ā. Deep within the inner self are glorious homes and beautiful places. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕਿਨੈ ਥਾਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥ गुरमुखि विरलै किनै थानु पाइआ ॥ Gurmukẖ virlai kinai thān pā▫i▫ā. But rare is that person who, as Gurmukh, finds these places. ਇਤੁ ਸਾਥਿ ਨਿਬਹੈ ਸਾਲਾਹੇ ਸਚੇ ਹਰਿ ਸਚਾ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥ इतु साथि निबहै सालाहे सचे हरि सचा मंनि वसाइदा ॥१५॥ Iṯ sāth nibhai sālāhe sacẖe har sacẖā man vasā▫iḏā. ||15|| If one stays in these places, and praises the True Lord, the True Lord comes to dwell in the mind. ||15|| ਮੇਰੈ ਕਰਤੈ ਇਕ ਬਣਤ ਬਣਾਈ ॥ मेरै करतै इक बणत बणाई ॥ Merai karṯai ik baṇaṯ baṇā▫ī. My Creator Lord has formed this formation. ਇਸੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਭ ਵਥੁ ਪਾਈ ॥ इसु देही विचि सभ वथु पाई ॥ Is ḏehī vicẖ sabẖ vath pā▫ī. He has placed everything within this body. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਣਜਹਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੬॥੨੦॥ नानक नामु वणजहि रंगि राते गुरमुखि को नामु पाइदा ॥१६॥६॥२०॥ Nānak nām vaṇjahi rang rāṯe gurmukẖ ko nām pā▫iḏā. ||16||6||20|| O Nanak, those who deal in the Naam are imbued with His Love. The Gurmukh obtains the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||16||6||20||
