ਹੁਕਮੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੁਕਮਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥ हुकमे आइआ हुकमि समाइआ ॥ Hukme ā▫i▫ā hukam samā▫i▫ā. By His Command we come, and by His command we merge into Him again. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਸੁ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਮਾਨੈ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥ गुरमुखि होइ सु हुकमु पछाणै मानै हुकमु समाइदा ॥९॥ Gurmukẖ ho▫e so hukam pacẖẖāṇai mānai hukam samā▫iḏā. ||9|| One who becomes Gurmukh realizes the Hukam of His command; surrendering to His Command, one merges in the Lord. ||9|| ਹੁਕਮੇ ਸੁਰਗੁ ਮਛੁ ਪਇਆਲਾ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਕਲਾ ਰਹਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥ हुकमे सुरगु मछु पइआला हुकमे कला रहाइदा ॥१०॥ Hukme surag macẖẖ pa▫i▫ālā hukme kalā rahā▫iḏā. ||10|| By His Command, the heavens, this world and the nether regions were created; by His Command, His Power supports them. ||10|| ਹੁਕਮੇ ਦੀਸੈ ਜਗਤੁ ਉਪਾਇਆ ॥ हुकमे दीसै जगतु उपाइआ ॥ Hukme ḏīsai jagaṯ upā▫i▫ā. By His Command, the world was formed. ਹੁਕਮੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਧਉਲ ਸਿਰਿ ਭਾਰੰ ॥ हुकमे धरती धउल सिरि भारं ॥ Hukme ḏẖarṯī ḏẖa▫ul sir bẖāraʼn. The Hukam of His Command is the mythical bull which supports the burden of the earth on its head. ਹੁਕਮੇ ਪਉਣ ਪਾਣੀ ਗੈਣਾਰੰ ॥ हुकमे पउण पाणी गैणारं ॥ Hukme pa▫uṇ pāṇī gaiṇāraʼn. By His Hukam, air, water and fire came into being. ਹੁਕਮੇ ਸਿਵ ਸਕਤੀ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਖੇਲ ਖੇਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥ हुकमे सिव सकती घरि वासा हुकमे खेल खेलाइदा ॥११॥ Hukme siv sakṯī gẖar vāsā hukme kẖel kẖelā▫iḏā. ||11|| By His Hukam, one dwells in the house of matter and energy - Shiva and Shakti. By His Hukam, He plays His plays. ||11|| ਹੁਕਮੇ ਆਡਾਣੇ ਆਗਾਸੀ ॥ हुकमे आडाणे आगासी ॥ Hukme ādāṇe āgāsī. By the Hukam of His command, the sky is spread above. ਹੁਕਮੇ ਜਲ ਥਲ ਤ੍ਰਿਭਵਣ ਵਾਸੀ ॥ हुकमे जल थल त्रिभवण वासी ॥ Hukme jal thal ṯaribẖavaṇ vāsī. By His Hukam, His creatures dwell in the water, on the land and throughout the three worlds. ਹੁਕਮੇ ਸਾਸ ਗਿਰਾਸ ਸਦਾ ਫੁਨਿ ਹੁਕਮੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥ हुकमे सास गिरास सदा फुनि हुकमे देखि दिखाइदा ॥१२॥ Hukme sās girās saḏā fun hukme ḏekẖ ḏikẖā▫iḏā. ||12|| By His Hukam, we draw our breath and receive our food; by His Hukam, He watches over us, and inspires us to see. ||12|| ਹੁਕਮਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਦਸ ਅਉਤਾਰਾ ॥ हुकमि उपाए दस अउतारा ॥ Hukam upā▫e ḏas a▫uṯārā. By His Hukam, He created His ten incarnations, ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨਵ ਅਗਣਤ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ देव दानव अगणत अपारा ॥ Ḏev ḏānav agṇaṯ apārā. and the uncounted and infinite gods and devils. ਹੁਕਮੇ ਜੁਗ ਛਤੀਹ ਗੁਦਾਰੇ ॥ हुकमे जुग छतीह गुदारे ॥ Hukme jug cẖẖaṯīh guḏāre. By the Hukam of His Command, the thirty-six ages passed. ਹੁਕਮੇ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਵੀਚਾਰੇ ॥ हुकमे सिध साधिक वीचारे ॥ Hukme siḏẖ sāḏẖik vīcẖāre. By His Hukam, the Siddhas and seekers contemplate Him. ਮਾਨੈ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਸੁ ਦਰਗਹ ਪੈਝੈ ਸਾਚਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥ मानै हुकमु सु दरगह पैझै साचि मिलाइ समाइदा ॥१३॥ Mānai hukam so ḏargėh paijẖai sācẖ milā▫e samā▫iḏā. ||13|| Whoever obeys the Hukam of His Command, is robed with honor in the Court of the Lord; united with the Truth, He merges in the Lord. ||13|| ਆਪਿ ਨਾਥੁ ਨਥੀ ਸਭ ਜਾ ਕੀ ਬਖਸੇ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਕਰਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥ आपि नाथु नथीं सभ जा की बखसे मुकति कराइदा ॥१४॥ Āp nāth nathīʼn sabẖ jā kī bakẖse mukaṯ karā▫iḏā. ||14|| The Lord Himself has brought all under His control. Whoever He forgives, is liberated. ||14|| ਕਾਇਆ ਕੋਟੁ ਗੜੈ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਜਾ ॥ काइआ कोटु गड़ै महि राजा ॥ Kā▫i▫ā kot gaṛai mėh rājā. There is king in the strong fortress of the body, ਨੇਬ ਖਵਾਸ ਭਲਾ ਦਰਵਾਜਾ ॥ नेब खवास भला दरवाजा ॥ Neb kẖavās bẖalā ḏarvājā. with its beautiful doors and special assistants and ministers. ਮਿਥਿਆ ਲੋਭੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਲਬਿ ਪਾਪਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥ मिथिआ लोभु नाही घरि वासा लबि पापि पछुताइदा ॥१५॥ Mithi▫ā lobẖ nāhī gẖar vāsā lab pāp pacẖẖuṯā▫iḏā. ||15|| Those gripped by falsehood and greed do not dwell in the celestial home; engrossed in greed and sin, they come to regret and repent. ||15|| ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਨਗਰ ਮਹਿ ਕਾਰੀ ॥ सतु संतोखु नगर महि कारी ॥ Saṯ sanṯokẖ nagar mėh kārī. Truth and contentment govern this body-village. ਜਤੁ ਸਤੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਰਣਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥ जतु सतु संजमु सरणि मुरारी ॥ Jaṯ saṯ sanjam saraṇ murārī. Chastity, truth and self-control are in the Sanctuary of the Lord. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਗਜੀਵਨੁ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੪॥੧੬॥ नानक सहजि मिलै जगजीवनु गुर सबदी पति पाइदा ॥१६॥४॥१६॥ Nānak sahj milai jagjīvan gur sabḏī paṯ pā▫iḏā. ||16||4||16|| O Nanak, one intuitively meets the Lord, the Life of the World; the Word of the Guru's Shabad brings honor. ||16||4||16|| ਆਪਿ ਨਿਰਾਲਮੁ ਅਪਰ ਅਪਾਰੀ ॥ आपि निरालमु अपर अपारी ॥ Āp nirālam apar apārī. He Himself is unattached, infinite and incomparable. ਸੁੰਨ ਕਲਾ ਅਪਰੰਪਰਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ सुंन कला अपर्मपरि धारी ॥ Sunn kalā aprampar ḏẖārī. In the Primal Void, the Infinite Lord assumed His Power.
