ਸੰ. मोदिन्. ਵਿ. ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। 2. ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋਇਆ. ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ। 3. ਅ਼. [مُودی] ਅਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ. ਪਹੁਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ. ਜੋ ਰਸਦ ਆਦਿ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਪਹੁਚਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ. ਜੋ ਰਸਦ ਆਦਿ ਸਾਮਾਨ ਪਹੁਚਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਸੇ ਅਰਥ ਨੂੰ ਲੈਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਮੋਦੀ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। 4. ਅ਼. [مؤدّی] ਮੂਦੀ. ਮਿਹਰਬਾਨ. “ਮੋਦੀ ਕੇ ਘਰਿ ਖਾਣਾ ਪਾਕਾ, ਵਾਕਾ ਲੜਕਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਥਾ.” (ਗੌਡ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ) ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ਪਾਰਵਤੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਜਦ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਤਿਆਰ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸ਼ਿਵ ਨੇ ਲੜਕਾ ਮਾਰਦਿੱਤਾ. ਦੇਖੋ- ਗਣੇਸ. Footnotes:
