Mukaḏam. 1. ਚੌਧਰੀ। 2. ਅਹਿਲਕਾਰ, ਮਾਮਲਾ ਉਗਰਾਹੁਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੁਲਾਜ਼ਮ। 1. headman, prominent man. 2. courtiers.
ਉਦਾਹਰਨਾ:
1. ਰਯਤਿ ਮਹਰ ਮੁਕਦਮ ਸਿਕਦਾਰੈ ॥ Raga Gaurhee 1, Asatpadee 14, 5:1 (P: 227).
2. ਰਾਜੇ ਸੀਹ ਮੁਕਦਮ ਕੁਤੇ ॥ Raga Malaar 1, Vaar 22, Salok, 1, 2:5 (P: 1288).

ਅ਼. [مُقدّم] ਮੁਕ਼ੱਦਮ. ਵਿ. ਅੱਗੇ ਕ਼ਦਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ. ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ. ਮੁਖੀਆ। 2. ਨਾਮ/n. ਕ਼ਦਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ। 3. ਚੌਧਰੀ. “ਮਹਰ ਮੁਕਦਮ ਸਿਕਦਾਰੈ.” (ਗਉ ਅ: ਮਃ ੧) 5. ਮੁਗਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਰਾਜ ਸਮੇ ਕਲੈਕਟਰ ਦਾ ਨਾਇਬ, ਜੋ ਮੁਆਮਲਾ ਉਗਰਾਹਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ (foreman). “ਰਾਜੇ ਸੀਹ, ਮੁਕਦਮ ਕੁਤੇ.” (ਮਃ ੧ ਵਾਰ ਮਲਾ). Footnotes:
