(ਨੀਦ, ਨੀਦੜੀ, ਨੀਂਦ੍ਰਾ) ਦੇਖੋ- ਨਿਦ੍ਰਾ. “ਨੀਦ ਭੂਖ ਸਭ ਪਰਹਰਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ.” (ਆਸਾ ਛੰਤ ਮਃ ੪) “ਘਟੁ ਦੁਖ ਨੀਦੜੀਏ, ਪਰਸਉ ਸਦਾ ਪਗਾ.” (ਬਿਹਾ ਛੰਤ ਮਃ ੫) 2. ਭਾਵ- ਅਵਿਦ੍ਯਾ. “ਆਵੈਗੀ ਨੀਦ ਕਹਾ ਲਗੁ ਸੋਵਉ?” (ਮਲਾ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ). Footnotes:
