Saṯī-ā. 1. ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੜ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ। 2. ਦਾਨੀ। 1. those who burns themselves alive on t their husband's funeral pyre. 2. benevolent, generous, altruistic, philanthropic.

1. ਸਤੀਆ ਏਹਿ ਨ ਆਖੀਅਨਿ ਜੋ ਮੜਿਆ ਲਗਿ ਜਲੰਨਿ ॥ Raga Soohee 3, Vaar 6, Salok, 3, 1:1 (P: 787).
2. ਸਤੀਆ ਮਨਿ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਉਪਜੈ ਦੇਣੈ ਕੈ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥ Raga Aaasaa 1, Vaar 6, Salok, 1, 1:7 (P: 466).
