Jagḏīs. 1. ਜਗਤ ਦਾ ਈਸ਼ (ਸੁਆਮੀ) ਭਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ। 2. ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ। 1. the Master/Lord of the Universe. 2. rulers of the world.
ਉਦਾਹਰਨਾ:
1. ਲਖੁ ਲਖੁ ਗੇੜਾ ਆਖੀਅਹਿ ਏਕੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਗਦੀਸ ॥ Japujee, Guru Nanak Dev, 32:2 (P: 7).
2. ਜਗਦੀਸ ਈਸ ਗੋੁਪਾਲ ਮਾਧੋ ਗੁਣ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਵੀਚਾਰੀਐ ॥ (ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਭਾਵ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ). Raga Raamkalee 5, Chhant 2, 1:5 (P: 925).
